Chapter 480 Eat First Yell Later
“Are you really not corning with me?” Stella asked.
Tewa nodded. “Mm–hmm”
“Did Victor threaten you or something?” Stella pressed.
How could someone change so drastically overnight? She was convinced Tessa had been coerced.
“It really wasn’t him,” Tessa replied.
Stella was stunned. Seriously! It wasn’t? Then how could she have Hipped so fast!
Just a moment ago, she’d been crying in Stella’s arms, begging not to be left behind.
Tessa rubbed her hands nervously. “Anyway, just go back for now.”
After tone was firm.
Stella didn’t buy it, but with Tessa refusing to say more–and not budging an inch to come with her–she didn’t have much ground to stand on.
Just as Tessa turned to head back into Victor’s room, Stella called out again, “Wait.”
Tessa paused and looked back.
“From now on,” Stella said, “don’t get involved in anything related to Victor. I mean it–don’t do anything.”
Tessa blinked, then gave a small nod. “Okay.”
“I mean nothing,” Stella emphasized. “No lifting a finger–not even to pour a glass of water.”
What had happened last night with the wrong medication couldn’t happen again.
If something like that happened again, no one would be able to explain it away.
Tessa’s mouth twitched, but then she gave a hard nod. “Got it.”
Stella was right. She totally deserved this.
Why had she been so eager to help–she barely knew Victor. Even if she wanted to repay him for saving her in Rivermount, that didn’t mean she had to play housemaid.
There were plenty of other ways to show gratitude in this world.
Tessa went back to Victor’s room.
Abraham took Stella’s hand. “Let’s go.”
And just like that, he was leading her outside.
As he tugged her along. Stella mumbled, “Do you think Victor really threatened Tessa? Did he?”
Abraham turned to glance at her, affection flickering in his eyes. “You showed up in person–who’d dare threaten her?”
Stella fell silent. Thur.
Forget Victor’s people–even Victor himself had to show her some respect.
Hai… no, that wasn’t right.
“When I said I wanted to take Tessa a
away carlier, Victor flat–out refused.”

This time, when it came to Tessa, Victor hadn’t given her even a shred of face.
Abraham said nothing more, simply led her out the door and into the car.
He didn’t bother answering her question again.
Once they were inside, he pulled her into his lap.
Stella squirmed a little. “What are you doing? Let me sit on my own.”
“The medical team’s already been arranged,” Abraham said. “We’ll start with a check–up when we get back, okay?”
Stella looked down. “But I’m hungry.”
It was already lunchtime
She’d originally planned to head straight back to the Dawson family’s place after picking up Tessa–but things had dragged out longer than expected.
Worse yet, she hadn’t eaten a single bite.
Hearing the pout in her voice, Abraham laughed. “Then let’s eat first.”
“At home?”
“Yeah, at home.”
They were already so close–of course they’d eat at home.
Sure, Falvaria had a lot of places Stella liked to eat at… but right now, all she wanted was to go home.
The car rolled steadily along the familiar roads.
Outside, rows of palm trees swayed gently. Even the scent of the air felt nostalgic.
About half an hour later-
The car climbed a small mountain just outside the city center. As it rounded a bend halfway up, the entire capital of Falvaria unfolded before them.
This had always been: Stella’s favorite spot whenever she left home.
Especially at night.
From here, you could see every twinkling light in the city, stretching out like a sea of stars,
Stella leaned against the car window, gazing out.
Abraham pulled her back into his arms. “What’s got yo
you so mesmerized?”
“I’m deciding where I want to eat over the next few days,” she said.
“Heh.”
He chuckled, indulgent and amused.
Back in Rivermount, she hadn’t had any appetite. Now that she was home, it was like her appetite had been restored.
“Troublemaker. If it turns out you’re pregnant, you won’t be able to eat out whenever you want.”
As he spoke, he kissed the back of her neck.
Stella squirmed at the ticklish sensation and collapsed against his chest.
Their eyes met.

Hers were soft and glistening, like morning dew–and the sight made Abraham’s heart melt.
His lips landed on hers.
Stella tugged at the collar of her shirt, flustered. “Don’t…”
They were almost home. For all she knew, a major scene was waiting for her to explain herself.

Even though things in Falvaria had stayed relatively calm while she was in Rivermount, now that she was back and facing her mother in person… she couldn’t help but feel nervous
Sensing the tension in her body, Abraham chuckled. “What? Getting nervous?”
“I’m not.” Stella mumbled.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wrong Girl and the Wronged Girl (Stella and Ethan)
Ch 489 Doesn’t this prove that Dan doesn’t actually have amnesia? Why would he go to the island with a strange woman and why would he steal from Derrick? He doesn’t know them....
Ch 488 I feel like this is going to be what Stella stole in his study in Pagenda or wherever his estate was....
Ch 485 I thought it was going to be the Reed family mine that she robbed, thus taking the Keenes product and leaving them in that situation....
Ch 483 o then, how did the Reeds fine her? How did they not know where she was from?...
Ch 477 Definitely hidden pedo in here, referring to tiny women as little girls in every way possible....
Ch 468 How could Stella inherit her adopted father’s weak stomach constitution?...
Ch 468 Abraham and Marie’s mother has been called Evelyn, Diane and Loretta.. which is it? Evelyn has been the most used....
Ch 465 She still doesn’t know the mistress is Lillian’s aunt?...
Ch 464 Why didn’t she kick her out herself be for she went to attack the mistress…...
Ch 463 This is stupid now. I understand being scared in his presence enough to not think straight, but she’s a lone more often than not and has plenty of time to think things through, especially if she has time to get gossip from Rivermount and report to Stella....
