Chapter 562 Sister–in–Law, Stubborn Men, and Soft–Spoken Trouble
Luckily, Abraham didn’t push it any further. He gave a small nod. “You’ll have to get used to these changes.”
Marie stayed silent. He sure looks like he’s used to it already.
His phone rang. After checking the caller ID, he absentmindedly ruffled Stella’s hair. “Gotta take this.”
“Okay.”
Stella nodded sweetly.

As Abraham turned to leave with the phone in hand, he looked back over his shoulder. “And no more eating.”
“Oh…”
She’d been so caught up in the awkwardness that she’d completely forgotten she was eating in the first place.
But now that he mentioned it, all she could think about was how good the food had been today.
Marie hurriedly had the rest cleared away.
As soon as Abraham left the room, Marie leaned in toward Stella. “Well? How did it feel?”
“How did what feel?” Stella blinked, thrown off by the question.
“When I called you sister–in–law. What did that feel like?”
Uh…
It definitely felt strange, to say the least.
“Come on, say it. What did it feel like?”
“It felt pretty weird.”
“Right? I knew it! I thought it felt weird too. But Abraham? That guy just rolled with it. Unreal.” “Right? I knew it! I thought it felt weird too. But
“I don’t care. When he’s not around, you’re still my Stella. I’m still calling you Marie.”
formal
No way was she going to take Abraham’s stiff, to heart.
How had she never noticed before how rule–obsessed he was?
Stella nodded obediently. “Okay, I’ll listen to you.”
The oppressive weight Marie had been feeling earlier finally lifted a bit.
That had really been a lot…

Just as she was about to keep chatting, her phone buzzed.
She glanced at it–Derrick.
She didn’t want to answer.
She hung up immediately.
But just as she did, a message came through: “I’ll be at the door in five minutes. Come out.”
Marie nearly exploded.
What the hell is this? A military order?
Stella caught a glimpse of the message too. “Didn’t you guys have a huge fight just now? How did that end?”
“With a fistfight.”
Stella blinked. This woman really lives in a war zone.
She gave Marie a worried glance. “So… who won?”
Honestly, the exact nature of their chaos didn’t matter. What mattered to Stella was whether Marie came
out on top or not.
As long as she wasn’t the one losing, everything else was fine.
“It was a draw.”
Even as Marie said it, her voice held a hint of gritted teeth.
That was all Stella needed to hear to drop the subject.
A draw, huh? That bastard Derrick really is tough to deal with.
Before either of them could say anything more, Marie’s phone rang again.
Derrick. Again.
That was the last straw.
“You stay here. I’m going out there to deal with him.”
Was it really that serious? It was just a wedding–why was he all over her like this?
Before Stella could say anything, Marie was already storming out the door.
Just as she was about to peek outside and see what was happening, Tessa called.
Stella picked up. “Tessa?”

“Stella, I asked you for help. I need to see my mom.”
“I already told my brother. He’s going to handle it.”
She had been keeping a close eye on this. After speaking to Abraham, she’d continued to quietly follow up on the progress.
Tessa let out a weak sigh. “Yeah, I know. He already arranged it.”
Stella was stunned.
“That fast? Did he say when you’ll meet?”
“He passed it to Victor.”
Wait, what?
Victor?
“He gives Victor most of the important stuff.”
So Tessa’s request was considered one of the important ones? That was good news. Really good.
It meant this was being taken seriously.
She hadn’t picked up on Tessa’s tired tone at all. Smiling, Stella said, “If Victor’s handling it, you can relax. You’ll see your mom even sooner.”
Yep, that was definitely how it worked.
But hearing how relaxed Stella sounded about Victor taking over, Tessa had no words.
She quietly whimpered, “Stella…“__VAR
“Huh? What is it?”
ER
Stella had just reached the doorway and was trying to peek at whatever Derrick and Marie were up to outside.
But that whimper from Tessa yanked her attention back almost instantly.

“Why do you sound so upset? Don’t worry–Victor’s super reliable. I mean, yeah, you’ve been in danger a few times around him, but you’ve never actually been hurt, right? That proves he’s trustworthy.”

Ch 489 Doesn’t this prove that Dan doesn’t actually have amnesia? Why would he go to the island with a strange woman and why would he steal from Derrick? He doesn’t know them....
Ch 488 I feel like this is going to be what Stella stole in his study in Pagenda or wherever his estate was....
Ch 485 I thought it was going to be the Reed family mine that she robbed, thus taking the Keenes product and leaving them in that situation....
Ch 483 o then, how did the Reeds fine her? How did they not know where she was from?...
Ch 477 Definitely hidden pedo in here, referring to tiny women as little girls in every way possible....
Ch 468 How could Stella inherit her adopted father’s weak stomach constitution?...
Ch 468 Abraham and Marie’s mother has been called Evelyn, Diane and Loretta.. which is it? Evelyn has been the most used....
Ch 465 She still doesn’t know the mistress is Lillian’s aunt?...
Ch 464 Why didn’t she kick her out herself be for she went to attack the mistress…...
Ch 463 This is stupid now. I understand being scared in his presence enough to not think straight, but she’s a lone more often than not and has plenty of time to think things through, especially if she has time to get gossip from Rivermount and report to Stella....
