The butler stepped forward. “Mrs. Bogden, my apologies. It seems there has been a misunderstanding.”

“This matter is concluded,” he said.

Melissa blinked, stunned. “Concluded? Just like that?”

Her mind stalled. She stared from the butler to Madam Evelyn. What did they mean, it was just over?

“Bring Kelly,” Madam Evelyn ordered.
