Hearing Abraham say they would keep searching, Stella only burrowed closer into his chest, confusion clouding her heart. Something about all this felt wrong, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Later, after finishing her call, Madam Evelyn spoke to Stella alone about the matter.
Stella shared her doubts openly.
Madam Evelyn’s gaze was steady, deep. She patted Stella’s hand. “Your thoughts are still too simple, Stella.”
“Huh?”
“Humans are the best in the world at hiding their true hearts.”
“So… what do you mean, Mother?”
“In my view,” Madam Evelyn said firmly, “Melissa is the one most likely.”
Stella’s eyes widened.
Kelly… no, she likely lacked the ability. During her years in prison, not once had the Tom family visited her.
What baffled Madam Evelyn most was Mona’s attitude.
That was her own daughter, and yet when she had come to the Dawson family before, her real concern had been for Gary–not Kelly.

From all of that, Madam Evelyn judged Kelly as incapable of such schemes.
“Melissa?” Stella asked softly.
Madam Evelyn nodded.
“She’s the one with the boldest designs on Abraham, and the courage to try something like this.”
Stella thought back to the banquet, to Melissa’s brazen behavior toward her. She lifted her gaze, meeting Madam Evelyn’s. “It’s true. She fits more than Kelly.”

“It’s not that she just fits,” Madam Evelyn corrected coldly. “It was her.”

Before stepping inside, she gave him instructions. “Stay close to Stella. If she cannot handle this, you help her.”
After all, she had raised Stella. She knew the kindness that ran deep in her bones.
Stella would never pity those who had harmed her. But neither would she ever willingly harm others.
The butler bowed. “Yes, Madam. Rest assured.”

Ch 504 Ok. I’m officially trashing this book. It keeps getting worse. Grooming, the adoptive mother accepting and approving of the grooming, now here comes Victor with the emotional and physical kidnapping, using fear to force consent… just like Abraham did all Stella’s life. Even now. It’s just too much scumbag crap on this book. On top of that, Lillian still hasn’t gotten exposed to the world and still hasn’t died and we are at over 500 chapters. Ch 500 This is just getting more ridiculous, especially this Dan thing. Why isn’t Derrick going after Dan instead of Marie? It also doesn’t seem like Dan has amnesia because why would he go with Marie to that island or even think to use Marie to steal from Derrick. Why would he even know who Derrick is?
