Chapter 815 The Family Roast Session
When Dale arrived, he saw Tessa and Victor sitting comfortably together, leisurely eating soup.
In that instant, his rage hit its peak.
For days, he’d been drowning in chaos and stress–yet this ungrateful girl sat there enjoying herself as if nothing had happened…
Especially when he overheard Victor ask, “You’re really not going to get involved with the
Ashen Pact situation?”
Tessa shrugged. “Why should I? That man’s not my father. It’s none of my business.”
Dale froze. Victor said nothing, simply lifted his wine glass and took a slow sip.
Sweat beaded on Tessa’s nose as she went on, “If you ask me, he probably can’t have kids anyway.”
“Hmm?”
Victor glanced at her, puzzled.
Tessa leaned forward toward him, close enough that he furrowed his brow. “What are you doing?”
“Look,” she said.
“Look at what?”
“Don’t I look nothing like Dale?”
Victor went silent.
And so did Dale—not far away, standing where he could hear every word.
Trevor, who was behind him, instinctively glanced his way. Dale’s face had gone so dark it could drip ink.
Victor looked at Tessa’s delicate little face, then pictured Dale’s in his mind.
Older now, yes, but his features still carried the trace of a man who must’ve been striking in his youth.
And those eyes were definitely like his.

Still, Victor chuckled softly. “You do take after your mother more.”
It was true. Tessa resembled Diana far more; her face carried her mother’s elegance.
But she wasn’t entirely unlike Dale either.
Unfortunately, in Dale’s cars, that comment took on a whole other meaning.
His face darkened further, his chest rising and falling with restrained fury.
And just when he was struggling to keep his composure, Tessa had to open her mouth again. “If I don’t look like him, then those ugly twins look even less like him. When I saw Dan last time, he didn’t look like him either! Honestly, maybe none of those kids are his. That’s just pitiful- truly tragic.”
If none of the children were his…
Then Dale must’ve really done something unforgivable in a past life to deserve such misery in this one.
His breath came fast and sharp. He turned toward Trevor. “None of them look like me?”
Trevor froze.
Being hit with that question–especially that kind of question–he had no idea how to answer.
If he said they did… well, everyone knew Lina and Lana didn’t look like him at all.
But if he said they didn’t… that might be worse.
After a beat, he chose his words carefully. “Ms. Tessa’s eyes, sir–they’re quite like yours.”
It was the only survivable answer to a deathtrap of a question.
Hearing that, Dale looked over at Tessa again.
Especially when she smiled, her eyes curved in a way that really did resemble his from years ago.
Trevor’s words soothed him a little.
Meanwhile, Tessa was still going on about those twins.
“Hey, I’m telling you–I’ve never seen anyone that ugly in my life. Even makeup can’t fix it! Can you imagine what they look like without it?”
The last time Lina and Lana had come to pick a fight with her, they’d been wearing makeup.

And even then…
They’d looked terrifying.
So she really couldn’t imagine what kind of nightmare they must’ve been bare–faced.
“Their mom’s not ugly though–she’s supposed to be this ethereal beauty. How did they turn out like that?”
“Even if you’re going to cheat, at least do it with someone decent–looking. If the kids turned out that bad, the affair partner must’ve been hideous too.”
It was exactly the kind of thing Lewis would’ve said.
Dale’s face, which had just started to calm, turned black again with fury.
Victor, however, watched Tessa with amused affection. Noticing a bit of soup on the corner of her mouth, he gently wiped it away for her.
Just as Tessa was about to keep talking, Victor’s expression shifted–he’d already spotted Dale.
That dark, stormy face made it clear he’d heard everything.
“What are you doing?” she asked irritably when Victor nudged her leg under the table.
He gave
her a pointed look.
Following his gaze, Tessa turned—and froze when she saw Dale and Trevor standing a short distance away.
Suddenly, the steaming soup didn’t smell so good anymore.
Five minutes later, Dale had managed to secure a private conversation with Tessa.
But Victor was still nearby, watching.
That alone was enough to make Dale’s blood boil–but he didn’t dare scold Tessa, not even a little.
All the chaos between the Ashen Pact and the Morris family had started because of her.
And yet, standing face–to–face with the cause of it all, he could only swallow his and force himself to stay calm.

Ch 489 Doesn’t this prove that Dan doesn’t actually have amnesia? Why would he go to the island with a strange woman and why would he steal from Derrick? He doesn’t know them....
Ch 488 I feel like this is going to be what Stella stole in his study in Pagenda or wherever his estate was....
Ch 485 I thought it was going to be the Reed family mine that she robbed, thus taking the Keenes product and leaving them in that situation....
Ch 483 o then, how did the Reeds fine her? How did they not know where she was from?...
Ch 477 Definitely hidden pedo in here, referring to tiny women as little girls in every way possible....
Ch 468 How could Stella inherit her adopted father’s weak stomach constitution?...
Ch 468 Abraham and Marie’s mother has been called Evelyn, Diane and Loretta.. which is it? Evelyn has been the most used....
Ch 465 She still doesn’t know the mistress is Lillian’s aunt?...
Ch 464 Why didn’t she kick her out herself be for she went to attack the mistress…...
Ch 463 This is stupid now. I understand being scared in his presence enough to not think straight, but she’s a lone more often than not and has plenty of time to think things through, especially if she has time to get gossip from Rivermount and report to Stella....
