Chapter 872 The DNA Report
And then there was Diana-
That meddlesome woman who had helped Dan countless times back then.
All Artemis could think about was how, once she escaped Black Mountain, she would rebuild her power and have Dan torn apart piece by piece.
Time passed quickly.
Soon, the medical team arrived, along with the fifteen representatives from all three parties.
Lenny stepped forward, holding the test report. “Mr. Dale.”
Conan took his place behind Dan, standing straight and silent.
Artemis’s and Manny’s hearts pounded in their chests.
Lenny’s sharp, unreadable stare made Artemis’s stomach twist.
In that moment, only one thought echoed in her mind. It’s over.
Lenny handed the report to Dale.
Dale took it, his expression unreadable, then looked up at Artemis.
Their eyes met, and tears welled up instantly in hers.
In the past, those tears would have softened him. They had made him give in again and again.
But not this time.
He turned away from her and looked down at the report.
When his eyes caught Manny’s name, he skipped ahead to the conclusion.
One look was all it took. His fingers clenched so tight the paper crumpled in his hands.
The room fell silent.
They were finished.
Dale’s gaze lifted back to Artemis, burning with rage, betrayal, and raw, murderous fury.
Artemis’s legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor, drained of all strength.
Dale’s blood boiled as he slammed the report onto the table.
“Damn it!”
He roared, his vision blurring as fury flooded his veins.

Then he looked straight at Artemis and, without hesitation, drew his gun.
The black barrel pointed directly at her.
“Ah-!” Artemis screamed in terror.
The entire room tensed.
There was no doubt now–Manny wasn’t his son.
Not his.
Not even close.
If Manny wasn’t his, then what about Lina and Lana?
Were they his daughters either?
No–they’d run away. They must have known the truth long ago.
If they’d really been his, they wouldn’t have run.
Rage surged through Dale’s chest. “You filthy woman. You deserve to die!”
He lost all control.
He clicked off the safety and aimed to kill her.
Three children–all not his.
All those years he’d treated them as his own, cherished them, protected them–and none of them were his!
“Dad!” Manny shouted, stepping in front of Artemis.
He tried to bring Dale back to his senses, but it was useless.
For years, Dale had believed Artemis was pure and innocent.
He’d cherished her, protected her, and kept her away from anything that might hurt her.
He had even kept Dan away from Black Mountain so she wouldn’t feel uneasy.
He had loved her and her children with his whole heart–and this was how she repaid him.
Dale’s eyes turned blood–red.
Seeing the gun, Manny’s anger flared. “Dad, you’d really do this to us?”
Artemis cried out too, “After all these years together, you-”
If she hadn’t said that, maybe Dale would’ve calmed down a little.
But that line–after everything we’ve been through–cut deeper than anything else.

Finished
Yes, he had loved her for so many years…
Years of love from him–and years of lies from her.
The anger in his chest exploded.
Finally, Artemis said, “Does it really matter whether the child is yours?”
The moment the words left her mouth, a deafening bang shattered the air, followed by a sharp, piercing
sound.
The room fell silent, heavy with the sound of shallow, panicked breathing.
Then-
Artemis’s scream tore through the quiet. “Ah-! Manny! Manny!”
As Manny collapsed, Artemis caught him in her arms.
His chest was covered in blood.
