They met at a well-known club in Orenth. It looked opulent and glamorous from the outside, but the inside was a chaotic, smoke-filled den.
Rebecca had surely chosen this place for a reason, but Penelope wasn't afraid.
When she entered the private room, Rebecca was already waiting.
Six years had passed, and Rebecca had changed. She wore a sharp, professional suit, adorned with luxury accessories. She held her chin high, projecting a carefully constructed "queen bee" persona that, admittedly, had a certain flair.
In contrast, Penelope was dressed casually in jeans, a turtleneck sweater, and a mid-length coat, her hair down and unadorned.
Seeing her simple attire, the smile on Rebecca's face deepened.
"Penelope, it's been years. You've changed so much."
Penelope's lip twitched. "Have I?"
"Don't you think I've changed a lot, too?" Rebecca asked, narrowing her eyes.
Penelope shrugged. "Like you said, it's been years. Everyone changes."
"Don't you find me familiar?"
"Familiar?"
Penelope frowned. What did she mean?
"Don't you think I'm a lot like the old you?"
