The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 492

"You... you have nothing to be proud of!"

"I'm not proud. I'm just stating a fact."

Rebecca's expression shifted several times before she finally uncrossed her legs.

"Ms. James assaulted someone over a simple disagreement. This isn't something I can just overlook as a favor to you," Rebecca said, taking out her phone and showing Penelope a video.

The video, clearly recorded on a phone, showed the argument between Hannah and Buck. It captured the moment Buck grabbed Hannah's arm, and she pushed him away, causing him to fall to the ground.

The video ended abruptly there, conveniently leaving out the part where Buck immediately got back up.

"A design firm bullying a construction worker. If I release this video, your company will be tried in the court of public opinion. You'll never work in this industry again!"

Penelope narrowed her eyes. The fact that this video existed proved the whole thing was a setup, not an accident.

"Rebecca, you think you're powerful enough now, that you have the skills and the means to finally teach me a lesson, is that it?"

A smirk formed on Rebecca's lips. "I have been waiting for this day!"

"And I assume you haven't forgotten what you did to me?"

Rebecca was here to settle old scores.

Penelope nodded. If there were old scores to settle, then they should be settled.

"So, what do you want from me?"

Hearing this, Rebecca thought she had Penelope right where she wanted her. Her eyes lit up.

"You'll do whatever I say?"

"Do I have a choice?"

"I'm Penelope. There's no kind of person I haven't dealt with. You should take notes."

"Hah. Well, I'll be waiting here for your good news."

Penelope narrowed her eyes. Just how terrible was this Mr. Bright that Rebecca wouldn't even show her face?

Rebecca had already made the arrangements with Mr. Bright in a room just across the hall. As Penelope approached, she saw two burly men standing guard outside the door.

When they learned she was sent by Rebecca, the two men looked her up and down before pushing the door open for her.

The thick stench of alcohol and smoke inside was overwhelming. The door slammed shut behind her.

Inside, several men were drinking and laughing. When they saw her, their smiles turned lecherous.

Down the hall, in the most luxurious suite, a young man leaned close to Michael's ear and whispered, "I just saw Mrs. Stapleton go into Harry Bright's room."
