The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 493

Michael nearly jumped out of his skin. "Mrs. Stapleton? Which Mrs. Stapleton? Are you sure you saw her correctly?"

The young man rolled his eyes. "How many Mrs. Stapletons are there in Orenth? The one Mr. Stapleton acknowledges. Is there any other?"

"That's not the point! The point is, did you really see her go into Harry's room?"

"Clear as day."

Michael felt a headache coming on. Penelope disappears for six years, and the moment she shows up, she walks right into the den of that old lecher, Harry.

This couldn't happen. He couldn't let anything happen to her.

Michael immediately got up and headed for the terrace.

The wind was strong outside, where Theodore and Hamilton were leaning against the railing, smoking.

"Your resort winning the accommodation bid for the upcoming tournament has made a lot of people jealous, especially the Bishop Group," Hamilton said, tapping the ash from his cigarette.

Theodore took a long drag. "Everyone wants to use this tournament as a stepping stone to land the government's international trade conference contracts next year."

"Strictly in terms of hotel services, Zenith Group isn't as experienced as the Bishop Group."

"Right. Which is why we need more experience. The higher-ups probably took that into consideration."

Hamilton laughed. "That's some gangster logic right there."

Theodore exhaled a cloud of smoke. "As long as it makes money, I don't care if it's gangster logic or not. People can say whatever they want."

"Mr. Gomez's daughter seems to be quite taken with you."

"Is that so."

"No interest?"

"Some."

Michael arrived just in time to hear that last word and paused.

"Michael, why are you sneaking around?" Hamilton teased.

"Let's not waste time. We have to go get her."

"Should we tell Theodore?"

"No way. He hates it when anyone even mentions her name. It's like he wants to cry every time. The wound is still deep."

Michael's lip twitched. That was a slight exaggeration, but not entirely untrue.

The two of them hurried to Harry's room. Just as they arrived, the door burst open, and a burly man was sent flying out.

With a loud thud and a cry of pain, he landed heavily on the floor.

The two guards at the door stared for a second before rushing inside. A moment later, they too were kicked out, one after the other.

Michael and Hamilton exchanged a look and instinctively ducked into the nearby stairwell.

Penelope emerged, shaking out her hand. Her clothes were neat, and she was completely unharmed. She still wasn't satisfied, walking over to one of the men on the floor and kicking him in the stomach.

"Where's your tough guy act now? You actually thought I'd fall in line? And I'm the one who needs help? Really?"
