The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 564

"Are you an idiot?"

"You're the idiot!"

Julian was getting exasperated. "In any case, you didn't get them all right, so I can't give it to you."

"Liar! I don't want to play with you anymore!"

"Julian is right. You didn't get the problem right, so you can't have the game console," Kristin said softly.

Hubert wailed. "You're taking his side!"

Kristin quickly covered her mouth and fell silent.

Penelope knew her son's tricks. He was throwing a tantrum, hoping Julian would cave and give him the toy.

She walked over and pinched Hubert's ear.

"Stop being a sore loser!"

"Mom, you're siding with him too!"

"I'm siding with what's right. Are you in the right?"

"I… I…"

Hubert snuck a glance at Penelope's face and saw she was about to lose her temper. His own face puffed up.

"Fine, I don't want it anymore!"

Only then did Penelope let him go. "Apologize to Julian."

"No!"

"Are you asking for a spanking?"

Hubert was afraid of getting hit. Though he was still fuming, he mumbled an apology to Julian. But after apologizing, he felt even more wronged.

"I did so many problems, my brain is tired, and I got nothing for it! My life is so hard!"

Julian's lip twitched. "I'm just surprised that at six years old, you can't do simple addition."

"You're so smart, you're so great, what's there to be smug about!"

"Of course I do, it's just…"

Before she could finish, Hubert also came out of his room and saw the ruined dinner. He let out a loud wail, clutching his stomach dramatically.

"I'm starving to death! I want to eat!"

The boy was clearly just venting his frustration. Penelope put down the pot, ready to discipline him. But he was quick. Seeing her expression, he bolted.

Just then, the door opened and Theodore walked in. Hubert immediately scrambled behind him.

"My mom is trying to starve me!"

Theodore picked Hubert up, and the little boy wrapped his arms tightly around his neck, sobbing out his grievances. "My mom wants to hit me, and Julian was bullying me! I'm so miserable! Why am I so miserable!"

Penelope had to admit, she hadn't done the best job raising her child. As a result, Hubert was doing poorly in school, was prone to tantrums, and was incredibly mischievous.

But maybe it was genetic?

If it was genetic, then it was Theodore's fault. In any case, it wasn't hers.

Theodore, his heart aching for his son, shot a dark look at Penelope before heading into the kitchen to cook.
