At the hospital, the doctor reset Natalie's leg. It wasn't a serious injury; a few days of rest would be enough.
Natalie soothed Kristin to sleep beside her. When she turned back, she found Marico studying her with narrowed eyes.
"Thank you for today."
"So I have slept with you before."
Natalie's lips tightened at his words.
If he wasn't a complete idiot, he could have figured it out with a little thought.
"Six years ago," she said.
"Six years ago?" Marico stared at Natalie's face, searching his memory, but came up empty. "I've slept with too many women. To be honest, you're not that memorable."
"So, I've thanked you. I won't trouble you any further. Please leave."
"How old is your daughter?"
"My daughter has nothing to do with you!"
"Is that so?" Marico held up his hand, a few strands of hair caught between his fingers. "Just plucked these from your daughter's head."
"What are you planning to do?"
"A paternity test. I'm quite familiar with the procedure. Several women have come to me with kids before, but unfortunately, none of them were mine."
Natalie took a deep breath. "Then do as you please."
Seeing her indifferent attitude, Marico scoffed and threw the hairs away.
"Looks like she really is Hamilton's kid, but he refuses to acknowledge her."
"That's none of your business."
"The only thing I'm curious about is, when we slept together, were you and Hamilton divorced?"
Natalie looked at Marico and shook her head. "No."
"You've made me a homewrecker!"
"Do you care?"
Marico stuck his hands in his pockets. "Not really."
"A word of advice: don't tell Hamilton you slept with me. He'll kill you."
