Since they had decided to stay in Orenth, the first order of business was to find schools for the two children.
It wasn't an easy task. They didn't want to settle for the lesser schools, but the better ones had stricter requirements, some of which they couldn't meet.
Penelope considered buying a house near a good school, but finding the right one was a time-consuming and exhausting process; it wasn't something you could just decide on and purchase immediately.
On top of that, she had to visit Natalie at the hospital and take care of the two children, leaving her completely swamped.
One day, after short-listing a few houses, she went to the hospital to go over them with Natalie.
As she approached the room, she heard Natalie on the phone.
"Mr. Temple, I heard you have a new project starting soon. Have all the roles been cast? I was wondering if there might be anything suitable for me. I'm not picky—a supporting role would be fine."
"Nothing suitable? You don't have to turn me down so quickly, I…"
Before Natalie could finish, the other party hung up as if she were a plague.
Penelope walked in. "Don't rush it. We'll take it one step at a time."
Natalie sighed. "I've contacted almost every director and producer I know, but no one dares to give me a role and risk offending Hamilton."
Penelope thought for a moment. "Wait here. I'll call my dad."
She immediately contacted Donald Bishop and explained the situation. Donald said the production he was about to join was likely still holding auditions, and there might be a role for Natalie.
Donald called the producer right away. Although the producer was hesitant, he agreed to give Natalie an audition out of respect for Donald, telling her to come in the next day.
Natalie was thrilled to get the opportunity.
Penelope was happy for her too. At this point, all Natalie needed was to appear on screen to break Hamilton's blockade.
"A few of us are getting together tonight to unwind."
"Simon is organizing it. I'll send you the address once he gives it to me."
"But let's be clear first. Can you please not punch Hamilton?"
Penelope didn't agree to the last part. If Hamilton refused to lift the blacklist, she might very well resort to violence.
Later that evening, Michael sent her the address for their get-together.
It was Theodore's beach house. She'd been there before.
But seeing Theodore…
She'd just have to pretend she didn't know him. After all, she wasn't there specifically to see him.
