Adrian's hair was securely tucked inside her palm.

She forcefully shook off Hassan's grip. "Enough! I'm done listening to the highlight reel of your tragic romance. Since there is zero chance for us anymore, just sign the divorce papers and get it over with."

Natalie turned on her heel and walked away briskly.

Her heart hammered in her chest. She practically sprinted out of the campus gates, heading straight back to Nancy's place, where she immediately sealed away the evidence she had just acquired. Now she had all three samples.

Exhaling a long breath, Natalie murmured, "I'll personally hand these over to the doctor tomorrow."

"How did you even manage to get them?" Nancy asked, genuinely curious.

Natalie gave her the rundown, then dragged herself to the bedroom, utterly mentally exhausted, and collapsed onto the bed.

Truthfully, hearing those memories had felt like taking a knife to the chest while under local anesthesia. It didn't bring agonizing pain, but she could definitely feel the pressure of the blade.

It was just buried under a heavy layer of suppression.

Natalie told herself that no one's life was perfect, and eventually, everything would be okay.

One day, both Hassan and those suffocating memories would vanish completely from her world.

At noon the following day, Natalie took the three sealed samples to the doctor's hotel and handed them over personally.

Walking out of the lobby, she glanced up and saw a massive LED billboard displaying a newly launched robotic model. At the bottom right corner, the credit read: 'Seven'.

The debut model had instantly gone viral.

More and more people were starting to recognize the name 'Seven'. Professor Adler had mentioned to her that quite a few people were quietly probing him for details about her identity.

Natalie knew that dodging all those background checks wasn't just due to top-tier government encryption, but mostly thanks to Professor Adler's fierce protection.

She didn't dwell on it, diving right back into her ongoing tasks. She monitored the display screen while connecting the equipment's serial ports, tracking the live data flow, checking the error logs, calibrating the visual recognition system, and adjusting the parameters.

Nearby, Marvin Ford and two other team members were running field tests on the newly deployed Generation-1 robots, flagging margin-of-error data and documenting any delays, stuttering, or alignment drifts in the physical movements.

During a break, Marvin checked his phone and walked over to her. "Hassan knows I was the one driving that day. He just asked me about it. I told him I was just passing by, and since you mentioned you were heading out to pick up Mia Sheridan, I offered you a ride."
