She deserved this anyway.

She took photos of both items and planned to sell them for cash.

In the past, she would have never dreamed of selling anything Hassan gave her. No matter the price tag, every single item had been a priceless treasure to her.

But now, she had firmly decided to let this man go. That meant cutting ties with every single thing he had ever given her and completely removing herself from his life.

Her chest still felt tight and bitter, but she knew that a short, sharp pain was better than dragging it out. One day, she would get used to it and finally let him go entirely.

She had no idea that the moment she posted the listings, the news was immediately relayed to Hassan.

Twilight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, casting a warm hue over the study.

Hassan sat behind his massive ebony desk. An open document and a Montblanc pen lay in front of him, but his eyes were fixed entirely on his phone.

[Zeke: Mr. Carlson, the secondhand buyer just messaged me. They said Mrs. Carlson has listed the bag on the market again.]

A moment later, another text popped up.

[The necklace was listed too.]

He lowered his gaze. His long, thick eyelashes cast faint shadows over his skin, concealing whatever emotion flickered in his eyes. Only the sharp, cold lines of his jaw remained, radiating an icy distance.

In that moment, a crystalline realization formed in his mind.

Natalie really was different now. She actually had the heart to sell the things he gave her.

He realized that even if Natalie still harbored feelings for him, her deliberate detachment and the slow march of time would eventually drain every last drop of affection she had left.

He stood up and walked out of the study.

Meanwhile, Natalie had just left her phone outside and stepped into the bathroom. She stripped off her clothes and turned on the shower.

Just as she lathered on the body wash, the bathroom door was violently pushed open.

Her eyes widened in shock. Even when they acted like a proper married couple, they never bothered locking the door. She never imagined that Hassan, a man who always strictly adhered to boundaries and etiquette, would just barge right in.

"Get out!" Natalie yelled as she saw him shut the door behind him and march toward her. She grabbed the showerhead and aimed the water directly at him. "Get out! Are you crazy?! I'm showering!"

In an instant, his pristine dress shirt was completely soaked through.
