Adrian lifted those clear, distinct eyes and stared at Hassan. "But I'm about to get kicked out, aren't I?"

Hassan's gaze faltered. His eyelashes fluttered slightly as he took the boy's hand. "No, you're not."

As if he didn't quite believe him, Adrian continued, "Cecily is really angry that I'm not her real great-grandson."

Previously, aside from Hassan, Cecily was the person Adrian interacted with the most in this house.

She was even the one who picked him up after his classes every single time.

Hassan was always busy with work, rarely ever seen around the house.

To a young child, the current situation simply meant the person closest to him didn't want him anymore.

The man took a heavy breath. "Don't overthink it. You still have me."

Adrian didn't say anything else and quietly went back to his room.

There was a missed call on his smart watch sitting on the desk. The caller ID showed it was Gardenia.

Adrian walked over and called her back.

"Adrian, how are things over there? Are they giving you a hard time?"

"Not right now," he replied.

Gardenia asked again, "Has Natalie moved out yet?"

Adrian gave a soft hum of confirmation.

She then said, "There's something I need you to help me with next. You have to get this right. It’s about our future happiness, do you understand?"

Adrian blinked. "What is it?"

"Remember, you can't tell anyone about the things I discuss with you. Not even your dad," she said with dead seriousness.
