Panic immediately flooded Gardenia's eyes as she stared at him in stunned silence.

Her lips parted, trembling, but she couldn't formulate a single word. She lowered her head, her fingers nervously twisting the fabric of her clothes. "I..."

Hassan stared at her and commanded, "Go back."

She looked up at him in shock. "You're not going to do anything?"

He turned around and pressed the elevator button. "What do you want me to do?"

Gardenia's eyes instantly welled up with tears. She had agonized over what Hassan would do if he found out what she'd done. She had even mentally prepared herself for a brutal dressing down. But she never imagined he would do absolutely nothing, going so far as to call her out in private after pulling her aside.

"I'm so sorry, Hassan. I know I was wrong. I won't ever do it again. I was just... I was just in such a rush," she sobbed softly.

His tone remained entirely flat. "I'll handle things here. Go home and get some rest."

With that, he stepped right into the elevator.

A wave of profound emotion washed over Gardenia. Even after catching her doing something so underhanded, Hassan hadn't laid a finger on her or raised his voice. Didn't that just prove how incredibly important she was in his heart?

Leaving Sycamore Quays, she was completely taken aback when she ran into Jacob Holt—the very man she had arranged to deal with Natalie.

The moment Jacob saw her, he rushed over. "Why are you out here? Didn't you say Natalie was bullying you? Come on, I'm definitely getting justice for you today."

Gardenia hurriedly grabbed his arm. "I need to go home."

Jacob frowned. "How can you just leave like this? Backing down will only make her more arrogant. Once she realizes you're a pushover, she'll make it her personal mission to torment you."

She tugged him toward the car. "Hassan said he'd take care of it for me."

She reasoned that since Hassan had deliberately brought her downstairs privately to confront her about the drug, he definitely wasn't planning on telling Natalie about it.

Once the drug kicked in for Natalie, Hassan would simply throw her out in disgust.
