Natalie walked straight toward her. "What are you doing here?"

Nancy rarely left the house, let alone came to a high-end place like this.

Nancy's gaze flicked past her for a second. "Natalie."

She stepped forward and grabbed Natalie's hand.

Looking down, Natalie noticed Nancy's fingers were trembling. Her grip was so tight that Natalie frowned from the pain. "What's wrong?"

Following her friend's line of sight, she saw her newly hired colleague, Gideon.

He smiled warmly at her and, seemingly noticing her gaze, walked over.

"Who is he?" Nancy asked, a hint of urgency in her voice.

"A new colleague. He's really talented. He's the one treating us to lunch today."

"Is that so..." Nancy tugged at her. "Natalie, let's go home."

"Huh? Right now? But I already agreed to this lunch. Did something happen?" Seeing how desperate Nancy was to leave, Natalie couldn't help but wonder if her condition had worsened again.

But Gideon was already standing in front of them. "What are you doing out here? Come on in. Is this your friend?"

Natalie nodded. "You guys go ahead. I need to talk to my friend for a minute."

Given Nancy's current state, Natalie obviously couldn't just leave her. She needed to calm her down and call a car to take her home safely.

But Gideon was surprisingly forward. "Since she's your friend, why doesn't she join us? It's just a matter of adding one more chair. Come on."

"I don't think that's a good idea. She doesn't know anyone."

To her surprise, the other colleagues chimed in agreement. "It's no big deal at all!"

Natalie looked at Nancy. "Do you want to join us?"

Gideon smiled gently at her. "Join us."

Nancy lowered her head. "...Okay."
