She turned to Nancy. "You're in for a treat today. Let's see if the shrimp here is as good as yours."

Gideon's gaze shifted over. "Your friend cooks?"

Natalie nodded. "She's an amazing cook. Ever since we moved in together, I've practically gained five pounds."

Gideon lowered his eyes. "She treats you very well, doesn't she?"

Nancy clenched her hands, her eyelashes fluttering wildly. "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom. Please go ahead and eat."

The group started chatting, and no one noticed when Gideon quietly slipped out shortly after.

......

In the restroom, Nancy washed her hands and face repeatedly. The hair around her forehead clung damply to her skin. Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she felt entirely disoriented.

"Hassan and Natalie are getting a divorce. My chance is finally here. Don't worry about me." A voice drifted out from one of the stalls.

Hearing Natalie's name, Nancy instinctively glanced toward the sound.

A door opened, and a woman stepped out.

She had long, dark hair cascading down her back and elegant features. She wore perfectly tailored jeans that showed off her stunning figure, a crisp white blouse tucked in, and a chic black shawl-collar jacket. She looked incredibly stylish and put-together.

Nancy only took one look before hurriedly lowering her eyes.

The woman probably didn't recognize her.

But Nancy recognized Joelle Nash.

She had heard the name from Natalie before and even seen photos.

When Natalie and Hassan first got married, Joelle was a constant topic of conversation.

People lamented that the perfect golden couple had been torn apart by Natalie.

Natalie's name meant 'peaceful,' but she was anything but. In everyone's eyes, she lacked the flawless, poised grace of a true socialite like Joelle.

Yet, somehow, it was Natalie who had managed to lock down Hassan, the man every wealthy heiress dreamed of.

If Joelle had married him, everyone would have found it completely natural.
