Natalie met his gaze across the crowd. His previous words were still ringing in her ears.

Yet, acting as if she had completely missed his meaning, she stood firmly in place.

The onlookers were momentarily confused, entirely unsure of who was actually married to whom.

A police officer pushed through the crowd. "What's the situation here?"

Natalie immediately walked over to him.

Hassan’s eyes tracked her every movement.

Natalie quickly explained the situation to the officer, laying out the facts in just a few concise sentences.

The officer then turned to the other driver, Joelle. "Based on the evidence, you are entirely at fault."

Joelle offered a polite, practiced smile. "Understood. The fault is mine."

She looked at Natalie. "Please let me know how you'd like me to compensate you. Name your price."

Without sparing her a glance, Natalie spoke directly to the officer. "We'll proceed through the normal channels."

"I did accidentally hit your car and waste your time," Joelle said gracefully. "I'm more than willing to offer extra compensation. Just say the word."

Had this been the younger, more naive Natalie, she might have taken the bait and used the opportunity to fleece her.

But Natalie knew exactly how Joelle operated. This was nothing more than a calculated performance—playing the humble, gracious victim in front of an audience. If Natalie actually demanded money now, the crowd would undoubtedly jump to Joelle's defense.

She lowered her head, a soft laugh escaping her lips. The delicate curve of her neck caught the light as a lock of hair fell forward, partially obscuring the subtle smirk on her face.

When she finally looked up, her gaze shifted effortlessly between Hassan and Joelle. "I wouldn't dare ask you for money. I'm terrified that if I do, you'll just make another phone call and summon my husband to deal with me again."

Hassan frowned.

Joelle froze in her tracks.

The crowd's expressions instantly morphed into pure fascination. Based on what Natalie just said, it was blatantly obvious something scandalous was going on.
