The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 645

"Mr. Baylor! You were romantically linked to Ms. Sterling in the headlines before. Is this just a PR stunt to protect a woman you're pursuing?"

The questions fired like shrapnel, relentless and deafening.

Security personnel stepped in to force the press back into their seats. Once the room settled into a tense hum, Jamie leaned back into the mic.

"Suzie and I were married privately. The specifics of our relationship are a personal matter, and I will not be commenting on them. As for the paternity test..."

Jamie glanced to his left. The executive immediately took over. "The DNA analysis was conducted by the Mornhaven Forensics & Genetics Center. It is fully authenticated, legally binding, and we welcome any independent verification. Should there be any discrepancy, Baylor Group and Mr. Baylor personally will bear the full brunt of the legal consequences."

As soon as the executive finished, Jamie stood up, buttoned his suit jacket, and walked off the stage flanked by a wall of bodyguards.

The executive on the right delivered the closing statement. "This concludes today's press conference. As stated, the results of the ongoing criminal investigation will be made public soon. The internet is not outside the jurisdiction of the law. We advise the public to exercise extreme caution before posting, sharing, or commenting on malicious rumors. Any further defamation directed at Mrs. Baylor or our children will be met with the full, merciless force of Baylor Group's legal team. Thank you."

The screen went black.

Suzie sat paralyzed on her couch.

From the moment he held up that document, her mind had been spinning. When the camera had zoomed in, she had seen the date on the test. It matched the exact timeframe when Jamie had been coming around, spending so much time with the kids.

He had known. He had known this whole time!

And now, he had just broadcasted to the entire world that they were privately married!
