Chapter 145 Everything Arranged by That Person
The person on the other end of the line snapped, “Useless. I sent you to the Anderson family so you could mess with them, not so you could slave away for them like some servant.
“Didn’t you keep bragging that everyone in the Andersons was a dog on your leash?
“So now your reputation’s trashed, and they’re sitting there, not lifting a finger. They’re even locking you up in the hospital, making you take care of Mrs. Anderson.”
Each harsh accusation hit Emily like a slap in the face, landing one after another.
Her face flushed red with embarrassment, leaving her feeling utterly humiliated.
She sat on the floor, her head hung low, but her eyes burned with fury.
Back then, the Anderson family was like puppets in her hands, completely at her mercy. Before the show, whatever she told the Andersons to do, they did it without hesitation.
They even sacrificed their own daughter, Whitney, for her sake.
They turned Whitney into nothing more than a prop to make her shine.
That alone showed how much the Anderson family valued her. But after the show ended, everything changed. Edgar started siding with Whitney.
Brandon didn’t even bother to help her clear her name. Instead, he told her to obediently take care of Paula and stay out of the public eye, hoping time would wash away all her scandals.
And Chase. Ever since the show ended, he’d been holed up in his room, refusing to go out or even look at the comments online. He didn’t even bother to ask how she was doing anymore.
Only Eric, that idiot, was still sticking by her side
But Eric? He tried to teach Whitney a lesson, only to end up trashing his own reputation. He was thick as a brick, impulsive, and totally out of control. He couldn’t help her with anything.
What could she do? Everything fell apart because Whitney wouldn’t follow her lead on Real Survival. That’s why things turned out this way.
It was all Whitney’s fault. Her eyes were starting to turn red.
“You don’t need to worry about Whitney anymore,” that cold, raspy voice came through the phone again after the mocking
tone.
Emily pressed her lips together, frustration clear in her voice. “As long as Whitney’s still here, I’ll never truly belong in the Anderson family.”
“You can’t beat her,” the person sneered, their voice full of ridicule, like they were laughing at Emily for ever thinking she could compete with Whitney.
Even with the voice changer, that mocking tone cut right through her.
Ever since Whitney returned to the Anderson family, Emily had always kept her firmly beneath her, making sure Whitney never had even the slightest chance to rise.
Emily thought, ‘Why should I lose to Whitney?
‘If I managed to crush Whitney once. Then I can definitely push her down again, no question about it.
“I don’t know what she’s been like in the Anderson family these past two years, but right now, she’s not someone you can afford to provoke.” The person’s voice grew heavier, carrying a clear warning. “You’d better behave yourself and don’t alert
anyone.
“If you ruin my plan, the consequences. You know them all too well.”
When the consequences were spoken, Emily’s face turned ghostly pale, her whole body trembling as she recalled something truly terrifying.
With a shaky voice, she replied, “Yes… I know.”
“The only thing you need to do now is clean up your dirty reputation,” the person said, clearly done with Emily’s stupidity. “If you can’t get close to Ryan, if you can’t get his

If she could really become Ryan’s girlfriend. Maybe then, that person would finally lose their grip on her, she’d be free at last.
Emily’s eyes sparkled with cunning, but her words came out soft and submissive. “I get it. I won’t mess up your plan.” The person didn’t waste any more words. “Get to Roynfort Broadcasting right now. I’ll have someone pick you up. There’s a live variety show. You’re going to be on it.”
Emily immediately straightened up. She wanted to be on that show.
“If that old hag wakes up and I’m not there,” she said.
Paula’s temper was getting weirder by the day.
Even with her weak heart, she couldn’t control her emotions. Whenever she was awake, she’d randomly lose it, sometimes even taking it out on Emily.
If it weren’t for needing to keep the Anderson family under control, Emily wouldn’t waste a single second taking care of that old woman.
“That’s your problem,” the person said coldly. “This is your only shot. If you ruin my plans, there won’t be a next time for you
With that, the person hung up, not giving Emily a chance to say another word.
Emily clutched her phone, her body weak as she sat on the floor.
A single phone call, and her back was already soaked in cold sweat. She could hear the threat in that person’s voice.
If she didn’t go, that person would cut her off for good, no more help, ever.
She’d never get another chance to claw her way back. There’d be no hope of redemption for her. She’d be dead.
That person would absolutely make sure she didn’t survive. Emily wasn’t about to gamble with her life.
Worst case, she’d make up some story to string the Anderson family along when she got back.
After all, she knew exactly how to play them; getting the Anderson family to trust her was never a problem.
But she couldn’t defy that person’s orders.
Emily clenched her teeth, tightened her grip on her phone, and rushed out toward Roynfort Broadcasting.
Sure enough, when she got to Roynfort Broadcasting, a middle-aged man in a suit, proba
He led her into the station.
As they entered, the employees passing by all greeted him respectfully, “Director Rowe.”
Emily felt a cold fear gnawing at her, realizing how deep that person’s influence really went.

Their reach stretched all the way to Roynfort Broadcasting; even the director here was working for them.
Director Rowe led her to a studio inside the station.
Soon,
assistant handed her a folder.
Din Rowe said, “Look it over fast. The live show starts in thirty minutes.”
Emily nodded quickly, glanced around the studio, then touched her face. “Should I head to makeup first?”
been stuck at the hospital with Paula these past couple of days.
She hadn’t even had a chance to take care of her skin.
She’d only managed to throw on a bit of light makeup before rushing over.
Once this makeup appeared in front of the live stream camera, it looked no different from a bare face.
Director Rowe gave her a once-over, paused, then called over two makeup artists. “Remove all her makeup. Make her face ghostly pale and utterly exhausted. Make her look as miserable as possible.”
Emily wanted to protest. Shouldn’t she be showing off her most beautiful self on camera? If she could use her looks to draw people in, maybe she’d actually have a shot at redeeming herself.
‘If they make me look all pale and pitiful, who’d even bother tuning in to watch me?’ she thought.
But when Emily saw the look on Director Rowe’s face, she didn’t dare speak up and kept quiet.
With all her plans ruined by Whitney, she had no voice at all in front of that person.
She could only go along
with whatever that person arranged for her.
