Chapter 146 The Anderson Family Drove Me Insane

While getting her makeup done, Emily glanced down at the file Director Rowe had handed her. It was the script for the upcoming livestream. To her surprise, there were a few familiar names on it. Kayla, Jason, and Bella.

These were all her teammates from Real Survival.

She remembered that earlier that morning, she’d seen a promo for a classic variety show on Roynfort Broadcasting, teasing a reunion of some Real Survival guests.

Countless people were hyped, flooding the comments with Whitney’s name.

But the official announcement only listed those six people. She’d been furious at the time.

She thought, ‘And now, those same people were about to join me for yet another livestream? Seriously?’

As Emily was lost in thought, a familiar voice rang out from outside the makeup room.

The woman said, “So that’s why my agent suddenly told me I had to do another reunion livestream right after I finished filming the Real Survival guest reunion show.

“Turns out, it’s because of Emily herself.”

The woman walked in, dressed in a tight teal dress with cutouts on the sides, showing off her flawless skin, and wearing matching high heels as she strode in gracefully.

“Kayla?” Emily blurted out, surprised.

She glanced at Kayla, catching the sarcasm dripping from the way she called her Emily.

She’d had to swallow someone else’s snide remarks and couldn’t say a word back.

who did

Emily thought, ‘But now, Kayla? Who did she think she was, daring to throw shade at me?

‘Did she really think that because she found out the truth about Whitney and me on the show, she could use it against me?’ Emily’s expression turned cold, and the makeup artist’s careful work on her tired-looking brows was ruined in an instant, the shape drawn out abruptly to match her mood.

“Do you even know how to do makeup?” Emily snapped, the eyebrow pencil almost jabbing her in the eye.

Emily pushed the makeup artist aside without hesitation.

The makeup artist lost her balance and bumped into the table opposite, breaking out in a cold sweat from the pain. Emily stared at her messed-up brows in the mirror, her expression twisting with fury as her face looked even worse. She whipped her head around, shooting Kayla a furious glare.

Kayla laughed without a care. “Emily, it’s a livestream later. You’ll have to rely on me to fix your reputation.”

As she spoke, Kayla sauntered over to Emily, her hips swaying. “This is a golden opportunity for you.”

Emily’s face turned even colder. She never imagined that one day, she would be completely controlled by someone she had always looked down on and treated like a doormat.

She thought, ‘When did Kayla ever get the nerve to stand up to me?’

Kayla caught the look in Emily’s eyes and smirked, totally unfazed. “When you’ve got nothing left to lose, you don’t fear anyone. I’ve got nothing, so if I’m going down, I’m taking you with me, all the way to hell.”

Emily frowned. “What do you mean?”

“If you’re so curious, why don’t you go ask your precious Brandon?” Kayla sneered.

Emily bit her lip.

She was sneaking out from the hospital to be on this variety show.

If she called Brandon, he’d realize she’d met up with Kayla, and he’d know she’d slipped out to do the show in secret. Brandon would definitely make her go right back to the hospital.

She couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.

Kayla saw Emily freeze and let out another cold laugh, glancing at the makeup artist out of the corner of her eye. Then she leaned in close to Emily’s ear. “I’m not asking for anything crazy. Give me six point seven million dollars, and I’ll cooperate with you fully during the livestream, no questions asked.”

Emily’s eyes went wide. ‘Six point seven million dollars? Is she kidding me?

‘Where was I supposed to get six point seven million dollars?’

Even if she sold everything she owned from the Anderson family, it still wouldn’t add up to six point seven million dollars. “Kayla, are you crazy?” Emily shot back.

Kayla’s eyes, once alluring, now glinted with pure hatred, her gaze dark and venomous.

“Yeah, I’m crazy. Your Anderson family pushed me over the edge,” Kayla snarled.

Back then, she’d recorded a video of Emily and Chase talking, thinking she could use it to threaten the Anderson family or maybe get something out of them.

But when Whitney turned her down, Kayla got so pissed that she stormed over to Emily with the video.

She only did it to get under Whitney’s skin and keep Whitney’s real identity under wraps.

She wanted nothing more than to watch Whitney eat her words for not teaming up with her.”

But she never expected it was all because of this video. Now, she was completely ruined.

When she brought out the video, Emily had already agreed to all her demands.

Chase even made it clear that after the show, Anderson Entertainment would make her a top star and give her anything she wanted.

But honestly, that was a way to stall her so she wouldn’t expose the video live on air.

As soon as the livestream ended, the production team took back the phones they’d handed out.

She never even got a chance to save or send the video anywhere.

She didn’t have any way to use that video against Emily ever again.

After the show ended, the Anderson family instantly cut her off.

They couldn’t even be bothered to fake it. The Anderson family’s retaliation was downright ruthless.

Her own agent, who worked for Anderson Entertainment, tricked her into meeting up, and then the Andersons framed her and filmed something incriminating.

The Anderson Group used those videos to blackmail her, flipping the script and putting her under their thumb.

If she even thought about talking about anything from Real Survival that could make Emily or the Anderson Group look bad, they’d drop those videos for everyone to see.

Those videos would go viral instantly. That night marked the beginning of Kayla’s nightmare.

It was a nightmare that would haunt her for the rest of her life.

But Anderson Entertainment wasn’t about to let her off the hook.

With Real Survival still hot, they kept tying her to other shows, forcing her to tag along whether she liked it or not.

Brandon, the head of the Anderson Group and Emily’s older brother, even stepped in personally to warn her.

He made it clear. On every show she was forced to join, she had to do her best to make Emily look good and drag Whitney’s name through the mud.

If she didn’t, those videos would be leaked for the whole world to see.

The Anderson Group had those videos as leverage over her. She was empty-handed.

Even if she really exposed the truth about Whitney and Emily, hardly anyone would believe her. So, she had no choice.

The Anderson Group used her as a pawn, making her go on every show to whitewash Emily and speak on her behalf. She was already living such a miserable life.

So why did Emily, that fake heiress, get to lounge around without a care, with everyone trashing her name, and still have another chance to make a comeback?

Now, she was being dragged here under threat, forced to be nothing more than Emily’s sidekick again.

The moment Kayla saw Emily, all the hatred she’d built up lately poured out of her.

She hated Emily. The nightmare she went through that night. She wanted Emily to experience it for herself.

Kayla had been in this business for years, and she knew exactly what was going on. Anderson Entertainment was milking her for every last bit of value they could get, using those videos as leverage to keep her in line.

That was the only reason they hadn’t blacklisted her yet.

Once the show’s hype died down and Emily’s image was fully restored, Anderson Entertainment would be the first to cut

ther loose, no hesitation.

She’d be the first one they’d sacrifice by Anderson Entertainment, tossed aside without a second thought.
