Chapter 95 Whitney Exposed as a Country Bumpkin
Everyone was like, “Huh?” They didn’t react the way Emily had hoped. No one accused Whitney of lying, nor did anyone look embarrassed and try to distance themselves from her.
Instead, they all gave Emily the dumbest look. Their faces practically screamed, “Who are you? Why are you barking here?” They honestly couldn’t figure out what Emily was trying to prove by showing up and trying to get attention.
Sure, they were surprised when Whitney mentioned Prestige Manor. But they did not doubt her. Whitney wasn’t the kind of person to make stuff up.
Even if they didn’t really know Whitney or what she was all about, they still took her word for it. If Whitney said she lived in Prestige Manor, then that was where she lived. Whitney wouldn’t waste her time lying about something like that. Besides, even if Whitney was lying, so what? If she felt like fooling them, they’d happily play along. It was not like they owed Emily anything or lived off her charity. Did anyone need her jumping around here, acting all important? Please.
Emily felt super awkward under everyone’s stares. She frowned a little. This is nothing like what I expected, Emily thought, She pressed her lips together, trying to keep up her act. “I… I don’t want you all to get your hopes up and end up disappointed…”
“No need to trouble yourself, Miss Anderson,” Henry spoke softly, his voice smooth and gentle. He raised his brows, appearing calm and composed like a perfect gentleman, but his gaze was sharp and unapologetic.
Emily’s eyes turned a little red. She couldn’t figure out why everyone acted like Whitney had them all hypnotized or something. How could they still believe such an obvious lie?
She tried to warn them, and yet they shot her those weird looks, like she was the one out of line. ‘They don’t appreciate someone trying to do the right thing, Emily thought.
Emily was fuming, but she kept talking, “Truth be told, Whitney and I know each other personally. There’s absolutely no way she could ever…”
She never actually said “live in Prestige Manor“, but with all her fidgeting and hesitating, everyone knew exactly what she was hinting at.
She glanced at Whitney, then finally seemed to gather her courage. “At this point, I can’t keep Whitney’s secret anymore. The truth is… Whitney only came out of the sticks and moved to Roynfort two years ago.
“Before that, she was living in some remote town, no parents, taken in by the villagers and living off their kindness. After she moved to Roynfort… she’s been living with the Anderson family ever since.”
As she spoke, her cheeks flushed bright red. She bowed slightly toward Whitney. “I’m sorry, Whitney. I know you want to keep your pride, but… I don’t want you to go down the wrong path.”
She looked guilty and uneasy, her eyes rimmed with red, making her delicate makeup and already pretty face seem more pitiful.
“Since you’re all Whitney’s friends, that makes you my friends too. If you don’t mind, whenever you want to have a get- together, come over to the Anderson residence. Whitney and I will throw a dinner party for everyone.”
After she finished, Emily flashed a warm, soft smile, sweet and confident. Her sparkling eyes lingered especially on Ryan. She usually hated the idea of anyone else coming over to the Anderson residence, messing up her alone time with Ryan. But right now, things were different. She had to do this if she wanted to score some points with Ryan.
Plus, after checking her phone, she saw Brandon’s message. Turned out people online were already gossiping about Whitney and the Andersons. Joel had spread some vague rumors, hinting that Whitney only got on the show thanks to Chase.
So Emily chose this moment to spill everything. She and Whitney had known each other for ages, Whitney’s real background, and the fact that she’d been living with the Andersons.
Once Whitney’s supporters saw those posts online, they’d finally realize who Whitney really was. They’d finally see her for the ungrateful wretch she really was.
Emily figured that after her little speech, at least some of them would start looking at Whitney differently and maybe keep their distance.
After all, everyone here was a big shot in their su

But, nope. The group was still sticking close to Whitney. Instead, the way they looked at Emily was as annoyed and

impatient as before. They were fed up with her endless talking.
Emily was seriously frustrated. Her tricks always worked like magic on the Andersons. Every single time, she could turn the whole family, from feeling guilty and wanting to make it up to Whitney, to totally fed up with her, hating her guts.
But these folks were impossible to sway. No matter what she did, it was like nothing could shake Whitney’s spot in their hearts.
‘Whitney’s a bitch. How does she manage to win everyone’s trust and affection? Even Ryan… Emily seethed. She couldn’t believe it. Ryan was the shining star she idolized, flawless and untouchable, the one she’d always dreamed of. But he was on Whitney’s side.
“Whitney… is what she said true?” Nora asked, linking arms with Whitney and biting her lip, clearly troubled
Emily wouldn’t have said all that right in front of Whitney unless she was pretty sure it was true. Otherwise, Whitney would‘ ve called her out right then and there.
The thought of having to go to the Anderson residence for dinner and see Emily’s face made Nora uncomfortable. She felt uneasy all over.
Whitney lowered her gaze and said, “Kind of.”
‘Kind of?‘ Nora thought. Her face scrunched up more. “So And deal with Emily’s annoying face every time? Ugh,

guys can always come over to my place for dinner. My little sweetheart would be thrilled to see you all,” Henry said, smoothly offering a way out.
No one mentioned Whitney “lying” about living in Prestige M. Emily clenched her fists, feeling resentful. This was
definitely not the result she wanted.
But seeing Whitney unable to keep pretending to be all high and mighty, and actually admit everything that had been exposed, Emily finally got that little thrill, like she’d managed to step on Whitney for once, even if only in this one moment.
“Yeah, I used to stay with the Andersons, but after joining this show, we’re not connected anymore. I’m not planning to go back,” Whitney said.
She gave Henry a friendly smile and continued, “So you guys don’t need to go to the Anderson residence for dinner. Come over to my place instead. Henry, feel free to bring your little sweetheart along too.”
Whitney spoke with so much confidence that it almost felt like she was overflowing with it. Everyone glanced at Chase and Emily, then back at Whitney. Seeing that Whitney wasn’t trying to act tough or make things up, they all nodded along.
What does she mean by “not connected anymore” and “not planning to go back“? Seriously? Wait, Whitney’s really ditching the Andersons? No way. Wasn’t the Andersons all she ever cared about?‘ Emily thought, completely thrown off.
