Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 362

Celestine glanced at him before looking away and pulling him to his feet.

She had already checked with the staff at the old family estate in Portside City; the patriarch had left for Silvermere two days ago.

The Fordhams weren't around, and even Serena had flown abroad for a vacation.

If she were to send Raymond back, she would have to send him all the way back to England.

He was a six-year-old boy. No matter what, he couldn't fly internationally by himself.

As his biological mother, she did have an obligation to care for him.

Celestine's voice was cold. "Don't pull another stupid stunt like today. I don't have time to clean up your messes."

"I know, Mom. It won't happen again," Raymond said, a mix of relief and joy washing over him.

He knew he was off the hook for today's incident.

Still, his mother was very reluctant to go back...

In the end, the meal was finally prepared using the Prescott family's kitchen.

Flossie was an excellent cook, preparing four dishes and a soup.

Not only did the two children love it, but Celestine also praised it endlessly.

Celestine picked up a piece of steak. The taste was appetizing.

Though the dishes were simple, the flavors were complex and layered.

She exclaimed, "This is delicious, Flossie. It's a shame you're not a professional chef."

Flossie rested her chin on her hand, watching everyone with a blissful expression. "Hehe, you know it! My family's in the restaurant business, but I still have artistic ambitions."

Celestine smiled. "That's wonderful, too. It's a great happiness to have a passion and strive for it."

"Great minds think alike! Come on, Celly, let's toast to that!" Flossie laughed, raising her glass.

"A toast!"

Beside them, Cynthia dutifully raised her own pink juice cup, trying to clink glasses.

Celestine and Flossie both burst out laughing.

Raymond also stood up formally and raised his glass to Flossie. "Flossie, thank you for keeping my mom company at work and making her happy. This is to you."
