Vivienne was so furious she could barely speak. It took her a long moment to find her voice. Arrogant by nature, she always found a way to save face, even when she was backed into a corner.
"You talk a big game, but you still work for me, and you still have to follow my orders," she snapped. "Send me the latest project files right now."
She had only assigned this task two days ago. Under a normal workflow, it would take at least two weeks to complete. She knew they couldn't possibly have it done. By making this unreasonable demand, she wanted to humiliate Leo and extinguish the arrogance he had just shown.
To her surprise, Leo agreed immediately. "Sure. I'll send it right over."
With that, he hung up.
Vivienne frowned, replaying his cheerful tone in her head. Something felt off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
A second later, Leo's files arrived. However, the entire document was filled with dense technical jargon and experimental data. She couldn't understand a single word of it.
Just then, Julian texted her, asking her to bring the latest project updates to his office. Without overthinking it, Vivienne copied the files onto a flash drive and headed upstairs.
Ever since the incident with Clarence Vance, Julian had been just as sullen and brooding as Vivienne.
