The Thorne family residence was located in the ultra-exclusive Mercer Island Estate, nestled against a lush mountain and facing the vibrant blue waters of the bay and a private yacht club. With the mountain at its back and the sea at its front, it was a prime piece of real estate surrounded by sandy beaches, clear skies, and pristine greenery.
During her years working in Seattle, Willow had mostly experienced the life of an everyday professional. This was her first time stepping into such an elite echelon, and she truly felt the overwhelming wealth of the Thorne family.
As they approached the entrance, the massive wrought-iron gates slowly swung open, flanked by estate managers in pristine white suits who respectfully greeted Silas.
The driveway leading from the gates to the main residence was quite a distance. Along the way, perfectly manicured low hedges lined the path, and warm yellow ground lights illuminated the stone-paved road all the way to the front doors.
Before the car even pulled up, Willow could see four elder figures standing by the entrance. Silas gave her a quick rundown. "Those are my parents and my grandparents."
Willow had been worried that his family might be stern and imposing, but seeing this completely erased her doubts. If they were coming all the way outside to greet her, they couldn't possibly be that intimidating.
Among the four, the younger woman was undoubtedly his mother. She wore a pale apricot silk dress, its simple cut perfectly accentuating her elegant and gentle demeanor. Her complexion was luminous, her features delicate and completely devoid of any sharp edges. When she smiled, she radiated the soft warmth of flawless jade.
The woman holding her arm had to be Silas's grandmother. Nearing seventy, her hair was neatly smoothed back into a loose bun, held only by a simple, elegant jade hairpin. Yet, her eyes held the same sincere and welcoming warmth as his mother's, instantly putting anyone at ease.
The two gentlemen standing nearby appeared slightly more serious, but both possessed tall, upright postures and a striking presence. In a flash, Willow understood where Silas got his extraordinary aura when she first met him—it was clearly a powerful family trait.
For their very first meeting, the entire family had come out to welcome her. Willow couldn't tell if she was more nervous or deeply touched.
