Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 344

When they arrived, Silas didn't get out of the car. He told her to go up and pack her things while he ran an errand, promising to call her when he was back.

Willow had wanted to ask what he was doing and if he needed help, but the SUV pulled away before she could utter a single word, leaving her staring at the taillights. Only then did it dawn on her—was he angry?

From last night until now, she had essentially been fighting him at every turn. She doubted his words, shut down his attempts at conversation, and physically pulled away from him. Even the most patient man in the world would eventually get annoyed by constant rejection.

Not to mention, he was a powerful executive who was used to people bending over backward for him.

Willow convinced herself that his recent kindness had made her complacent, leading her to forget the boundaries she should have maintained. She had pushed too hard and finally hit a nerve.

She made a silent vow to tread much more carefully around him moving forward. She couldn't afford to throw any more emotional tantrums.

Weighed down by this realization, she was entirely distracted while packing. She barely had any luggage, yet she found herself unpacking and repacking the same few items, constantly forgetting things.

It wasn't until Silas called to say he was waiting downstairs that she snapped out of her daze. She shoved the last of her toiletries into her suitcase. "I'm all set. We can leave now."

The drive to the private airfield was suffocatingly quiet. Silas sat with a deep frown, his eyes locked on his laptop screen. Willow took this as absolute confirmation of his fury. She made herself as small as possible, trying not to make a sound.

The heavy atmosphere persisted until they boarded the jet. Silas finally broke the silence. "What do you want to eat? I'll have the chef prep it."

It was the exact same question he had asked on the flight out. But back then, he had been in a great mood, and she hadn't pissed him off. That was why she had felt comfortable requesting something as specific as the Golden Truffle Risotto from a Michelin-starred chef.

Now, she just wanted to be invisible. "No thank you. I'm not hungry."

Silas gave her a sharp look. "You haven't had lunch, just a single cup of coffee. How can you not be hungry?"
