Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 346

Willow savored the bite and immediately offered the box to Silas. He just looked at her, remaining silent.

She nudged it closer. "It's seriously so good. Are you sure you don't want to try it?"

Silas shook his head. "I don't typically eat sweets."

He maintained a rigorous fitness regimen year-round; cutting out sugar and heavy carbs was just a part of his daily life.

But Willow thought it was a tragedy. "It's a crime not to try something this delicious. One bite won't ruin your diet."

Silas's gaze drifted down to the corner of her mouth, where a tiny crumb of the pastry lingered. "You make a fair point. A little bit occasionally won't hurt."

He closed the distance between them. The sharp cut of his suit stretched taut across his broad shoulders. Behind the gold rims of his glasses, his eyes darkened, mirroring the deep, turbulent surface of a midnight ocean. His stare traced the curve of her lips.

Hyper-aware of his intense scrutiny, Willow felt a flush of embarrassment. Her first instinct was to touch her face. "What is it? Do I have something on my mouth?"

She raised her hand to wipe it away, but before her fingers could make contact, Silas beat her to it. A warm, calloused thumb brushed against the corner of her lip. A second later, she watched as he brought his thumb to his mouth and licked the crumb away. "You're right. The taste is excellent."

Willow sat there, completely short-circuited. Did he just eat a crumb off her face?

She shoved the entire pastry box into his chest. "If you want some, there are plenty of untouched ones right here."
