Leo wasn't buying her intimidation tactics. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest. "Spit it out."
In her entire life, no one had ever spoken to her with such blatant disrespect. The blood rushed to Vivienne's cheeks, her voice spiking in pitch. "Do you have any idea who you're talking to right now? You better show some damn respect."
Leo scoffed, a smirk playing on his lips. "I know exactly who you are, which is why I'm talking to you like this. Frankly, you're lucky I'm even giving you the time of day."
"Leo Yardley!" Vivienne exploded. "Who the hell do you think you are?"
Leo maintained his infuriatingly calm demeanor. "Are you going to get to the point or not? Because if you're done, we have a few things to say. It's actually convenient you showed up."
"You have things to say to me?" Vivienne repeated, her mind racing. It took her a second to jump to the most arrogant conclusion. They obviously wanted their jobs back.
They must have tested the waters, realized the job market was brutal, and discovered that without the Sinclair Group's name backing them, they were unemployable. Now they were desperate to crawl back.
At this realization, her fury evaporated, replaced by a sickeningly smug superiority. She straightened her spine, looking down her nose at them with a triumphant sneer. Her entire posture screamed: I told you so.
