Hearing her desperate threat, Leo and the team practically laughed out loud. "Standard policy dictates a month's notice, sure. But there are always exceptions to the rules. And honestly, we have you to thank for this one. Thanks to you acting like a tyrant and denying every single time-off request since last year, we've racked up a massive amount of PTO. We have more than enough vacation days banked to cover the final two weeks. As for the leftover hours? Keep the change. Consider it a parting gift."
"You—!" Her threats had spectacularly backfired, leaving her totally cornered. Vivienne was vibrating with rage. She opened her mouth to scream, but Leo ruthlessly cut her off.
"What's wrong? Feeling angry? Humiliated? Want to strangle me?" Leo mocked. "We've felt that exact same way under your management more times than I can count. Letting you experience it for once seems perfectly fair, don't you think?"
The words sparked a terrifying realization in Vivienne's mind. She replayed the way they had looked at her when she walked in, the way they had moved as a unified front. None of this was a spontaneous reaction. This was a calculated, premeditated ambush designed to watch her crash and burn.
Vivienne glared at them, her chest heaving violently. "You already knew you were leaving today, but you sat there and let me make that offer... You set me up!"
Leo and the team looked back at her, predatory smiles on their faces. "Took you long enough to figure it out. Honestly, you're a bit slow on the uptake. How does it feel to be completely played?"
Driven to absolute madness, Vivienne grabbed her glass of water and hurled it straight at Leo's head.
With quick reflexes, Leo caught the glass mid-air. In the very next second, he violently splashed the water right back into her face, delivering his final, crushing blow: "Shameless mistress."
Leo was not the type to bully women. Throughout his career, he had always treated his female colleagues with respect and grace. But Vivienne was the exception. She had pushed him past the point of basic human decency. In his eyes, she was completely devoid of morals; calling her human felt like a stretch.
