"You think he's that reliable too, right?" Willow smiled, assuming Jade meant Silas was trustworthy when it came to real estate.
Jade laughed out loud. "Oh, he's extremely reliable. I trust his judgment completely. Plus, you two are going to thank me for this later."
Willow was confused. "I'm already thanking you for letting me stay here. Why later?"
Realizing Willow was entirely oblivious, Jade waved it off. "Never mind, you'll get it eventually. Anyway, tell me more about his visit today. How was it?"
Willow gave her a full rundown of the afternoon, right down to the gourmet meal and the perfectly simmered broth. Even though Jade claimed she didn't mind having Silas over, Willow still wanted to be respectful of her friend's space.
Jade, however, couldn't care less about the apartment boundaries. Her jaw was practically on the floor. "Wait, let me get this straight. The Silas Thorne came over, brought his own groceries, and cooked you a homemade meal?"
Holy hell. Was this really the cold, ruthless corporate king she had heard terrifying rumors about? He sounded more like a devoted househusband.
"Are you absolutely sure you two aren't dating?" Jade demanded. If they weren't, she couldn't fathom a man going to these ridiculous lengths for a woman.
Willow shook her head. She admitted that Silas treated her exceptionally well, but he had never once confessed any romantic feelings. Besides, Willow clearly remembered him mentioning that he already had someone he deeply loved. She didn't want to overthink it. Overthinking only led to disappointment.
