Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 387

His tone softened marginally. "I was just throwing it out there. You're the Project Lead; you have the final say. But I am dead serious about Julian Sinclair. I never want to see his face again, and you need to keep your distance from him."

Preferably, Julian would just vanish from her life completely.

"Alright, alright. I'll try my best to avoid him from now on."

Soothed by Willow's gentle assurances, Silas's mood finally lifted. But at the same time, a stark realization hit him: his possessiveness was spiraling out of control.

Julian was legally her husband, yet Silas had just laid down demands about who she could see, and she had agreed without hesitation. Silas was genuinely confused. Driven by this surging territorial instinct, he desperately needed to know where he stood with her.

Ever since she had pulled away from their near-kiss in Seattle, he hadn't brought it up again. He had quietly retreated to his designated safe zone, maintaining a respectful distance.

But deep down, the urge to break through that barrier and move forward was consuming him.

"Don't work overtime tonight," Silas said suddenly. "I need to talk to you about something."

"Okay, no overtime," Willow promised. At this point, she would agree to anything he asked.

For the rest of the day, Silas couldn't focus on anything else. He mentally drafted and re-drafted his confession, trying to find the perfect words that wouldn't scare her off.

Willow, on the other hand, was less preoccupied, though she kept her promise. As the workday drew to a close, she packed up her desk, fully intending to head straight home.

Just as she was grabbing her bag, her phone buzzed with a call from an unknown number. Assuming it was a client, she answered it without a second thought. But the moment she heard the voice on the other end, her face twisted in revulsion.

Julian had used a burner number to get past her block. "Off work yet?"
