Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 471

But remembering he'd mentioned a packed schedule of important meetings today and might not check his phone right away, Willow hesitated.

First, she didn't want to disrupt his work. Second, she worried she was just overthinking things and would only stress him out over nothing. Besides, with so many people around, what could possibly happen?

With that in mind, Willow finally set her phone down.

What she didn't know was that at that exact moment, Silas Thorne was already on a flight to see her.

The second his conference in Seattle wrapped up, he hadn't paused for a breath. He canceled his next two mandatory meetings and rushed straight to the tarmac to board his private jet.

His executives assumed he had some massive corporate crisis to handle. Only Silas knew that this desperate, impatient rush was entirely for one person.

He had kept his arrival a secret, hoping to give her the ultimate surprise.

The jet cruised smoothly above the clouds, a rolling sea of white outside the window. Yet Silas didn't spare a single glance at the view; his mind and heart were entirely consumed by the woman waiting for him. He wondered what she was doing right now. Had she eaten lunch yet?

It had been far too long since he last held her. Even though Arthur Vance sent him regular updates and he saw her during their video calls, Silas still worried. Was she losing weight? Getting too much sun? Was she dealing with hardships he didn't know about?

More importantly, he desperately wanted to know if she had missed him during this time apart.
