Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 514

On the other end of town, Julian's so-called "important meeting" was nothing more than an excuse. His real motive for rushing back to Sinclair Group headquarters was to see Mr. Smith. He still harbored doubts about Vivienne's story and desperately needed an objective third party to verify the truth.

The moment he stepped into his office, Julian issued a curt order to his assistant. "Get in touch with Mr. Smith. Tell him I need him in my office to discuss the research project in person."

Ten minutes later, the office doors swung open. But instead of the distinguished, steadfast Professor Smith, a younger man walked in. He wore a crisp white dress shirt, his features sharp but unassuming, a polite and humble smile playing on his lips. Julian recognized the face from previous meetings but couldn't quite place the name.

Julian eyed him, his gaze heavy with scrutiny. "Why are you here? Where's Mr. Smith?"

The man stepped forward unhurriedly, giving a slight, respectful nod before introducing himself. "Hello, Mr. Sinclair. I'm Jayden Chase, a core member of Professor Smith's team."

He then offered an explanation. "The Professor is currently spearheading a critical pharmacological experiment. The data is highly sensitive, and he can't leave his post. He couldn't step away, so he specifically sent me to brief you."

"Mr. Sinclair, you can rest assured. I have been deeply involved in this research project from day one. I am intimately familiar with every detail and the entire sequence of events. Whatever you need to know, you can ask me."

Julian stared at his calm, unreadable face, sizing him up for several long seconds.

He was still suspicious, but he knew Professor Smith ran a tight ship. His team members wouldn't just randomly step in to hijack a meeting. If this man had followed the project from the start, he likely knew the inside story. And the fact that he was here meant Smith had authorized it.
