Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 610

Julian stormed into the house without a word, marching straight toward Toby.

His jaw was locked tight, his expression twisting into a mask of pure, unadulterated rage and bone-deep hatred. The sheer force of his fury seemed to suffocate the air around him.

He didn't bother changing his shoes, nor did he acknowledge the maids bowing in greeting. Before Toby could even register what was happening, Julian snatched the boy by the collar of his shirt, hauling him off the ground with one brutal yank.

"Waahhh!"

The sudden, terrifying sensation of being airborne and the choking pressure around his neck terrified the toddler. Toby's face drained of color as he kicked his legs wildly, erupting into a hysterical, ear-piercing wail. He trembled violently, tears and snot streaming down his little face.

Susannah, who had been sipping tea on the sofa, slammed her cup down. Frowning deeply, she stood up and scolded her son. "Julian, have you completely lost your mind? The boy was just playing quietly with his toys. What did he do to you? Why on earth are you attacking him?"

She hurried over to rescue her grandson, her tone taking on its usual bossy impatience. "And where is Vivienne? You went out to find her, didn't you? Tell her to get back here and look after Toby immediately! That girl is getting more unreasonable by the day. We only scolded her a bit, and she decides to throw a tantrum and vanish? We've spoiled her rotten. Just bring her home. It's not a big deal, it's not like we'd actually punish her."

Hearing her casually fuss over Vivienne was like tossing a lit match onto a powder keg.

Julian's head snapped toward her, his bloodshot eyes practically glowing with manic wrath. He roared, "Enough! Never utter that woman's name in my presence again! I never want to hear the name Vivienne Sinclair for the rest of my miserable life!"

Startled by his explosive outburst, Susannah stumbled backward. She stared in horrified shock at Julian's livid, terrifying expression, entirely robbed of her voice.

Suspended mid-air, Toby continued to sob, his small shoulders heaving. He clawed desperately at Julian's sleeve, choking out a plea. "Daddy... Daddy, it hurts... my neck hurts... let me down, please... I want Mommy... I want Mommy..."

Every time the boy cried 'Daddy', bile surged up Julian's throat. It was the most sickeningly ironic sound in the world.

His eyes turned to absolute ice. Jerking his wrist, he violently shook the crying child. "Shut your mouth! Who the hell is your father?"

The vicious snarl echoed like a bomb going off in the grand living room.

Toby's crying abruptly cut off. His face froze in terror, tears dangling from his lashes as he stared blankly at the monster holding him.
