"What did you say? Say it again, you bitch! You think I won't take you right here? I'll show you exactly what kind of man I am. You might be filthy, but at least you've got a pretty face."
He mockingly slapped her cheek, violently hauling her up and shoving her face down onto the dining table. With his other hand, he began unzipping his pants, ready to defile her right then and there.
Clara's blood ran cold. The sheer terror sent uncontrollable tremors through her body. Ignoring everything else, she seized the heavy purse with both hands and slammed it back into his groin with everything she had!
Instantly, an ungodly shriek of agony erupted from behind her.
"Argh!"
Scrambling to adjust her clothes, Clara spun around and was met with a gruesome sight—
Chase was on his knees, bent double in excruciating agony, his entire body convulsing. A terrifying pool of blood was rapidly spreading from between his legs.
Clara gasped in horror, stumbling backward until her body was pressed tightly against the edge of the table.
She had never witnessed anything so graphic before, and the sight left her completely rattled.
But it wasn't her fault, she told herself frantically. It was self-defense!
Yes, pure self-defense!
A moment later, Chase forced his head up. Fighting through the agonizing pain, he glared at her with pure murder in his eyes. "Clara, I am going to fucking kill you!"
"Ah!" Clara recoiled in absolute terror. Not daring to linger a second longer, she snatched her phone off the floor and bolted for the door. She almost collided with someone in the hallway, tossing out a breathless apology before fleeing the restaurant entirely.
The person she had bumped into was the waitress Dominic's partner had asked to check on her.
Confused by Clara's frantic escape, the waitress hesitated for a second before proceeding to the private room.
Pushing the door open, she was met with the horrifying sight of Chase writhing on the floor in a massive puddle of blood.
The waitress's eyes blew wide in shock. Slapping a hand over her mouth to muffle a scream, she slammed the door shut and sprinted to find Dominic.
"Emergency... Something happened..."
From a distance, Dominic's business partner frowned in annoyance at her lack of professionalism. "What's wrong?"
Dominic also looked over, his expression unreadable.
Gasping for breath, the waitress finally managed to stammer out what she had seen.
"That girl... I think she killed the man in there..."
The partner froze. "Killed?"
Without a word, he crouched down and checked for a pulse.
He was still breathing. But judging by the horrific state of his lower half, the man's reproductive days were permanently over.
Serves him right.
Dominic pulled his hand back, stood up, and pulled a tissue to wipe his fingers. He cast a chilling look at his terrified partner.
"Besides you, me, and that waitress, I do not want a fourth person finding out about this. Are we clear?"
Meeting Dominic's predatory gaze, the partner turned pale.
He nodded robotically. "Crystal clear."
Dominic nodded, instructing the man to handle the waitress. He then pulled out his phone to make some calls.
What he didn't realize was that the terrified waitress had already texted her friend about the bloody incident.
And that friend just happened to work at Cassandra Colter's company. Naturally, the news went straight to Cassandra.
Word spread like wildfire.
