The man's mocking words felt like a dagger twisting straight into Clara's heart.

The agony was unbearable.

With bloodshot eyes, Clara fought with everything she had. Knowing she had only herself to rely on, she gripped her handbag and brought it crashing down onto the man's head with all her might!

Panting heavily, Clara slumped against the wall, her legs giving out.

Soon after, hotel staff rushed to the scene.

The man was hauled away for attempted assault.

A female staff member helped Clara downstairs. Seeing Clara's disheveled state, the woman's heart ached in solidarity.

"Are you alright? Any injuries? Let me help you put some medicine on... Also, please give me the number of your family or your boyfriend. I'll call them for you. You really shouldn't be alone like this."

Family... She had no family.

As for her colleagues... Everyone was busy, and she didn't want to intrude on their personal time.
