Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 358

"Didn't I say not to touch her?!"

He was about to charge forward.

The man in sunglasses stepped up to block him. "We didn't lay a finger on her. She's just terrified, so she's crying... If you don't believe me, take a look at the woman next to her. Compare her to Seraphina, and you'll realize just how merciful we've been!"

Julian frowned, swatting the man's hand away without looking.

He had noticed the other woman the moment he walked in.

Her head was covered by a thick black hood, hiding her face, but her trembling frame and the bloody, overlapping welts on her arms made it clear she had endured brutal torture.

But none of that mattered to him. He was not a saint overflowing with compassion.

On the platform, Seraphina looked at him with tear-filled eyes, struggling helplessly.

Julian's dark eyes grew cold. Unwilling to waste another second, he threw the silver briefcase at the man's feet and spoke with absolute authority.

"The card you asked for is in there. Verify the funds, and then untie her!"

The man caught the case and flashed a wicked grin.

"I love a man who gets straight to the point, Mr. Lowell!"

He gestured for one of his subordinates to take the case and verify the money.

Then, he turned back to Julian, glancing at the hooded woman from the corner of his eye. He raised an eyebrow. "Since you're so wealthy, Mr. Lowell, why not throw in a little extra and take this one off our hands too?"

Julian frowned. He certainly wasn't going to entertain the offer.

He had money, yes, but he wasn't a savior. He wasn't that generous. Besides, in a life-or-death situation, anyone would prioritize their own people rather than risk it all for a total stranger.

"I only want Seraphina."

The man in sunglasses gave a meaningful smirk and dropped the subject.

"Understood."

The vast, empty factory amplified their voices, making every word crystal clear.

Seraphina heard him perfectly. Bound tightly by ropes, her body trembled uncontrollably with excitement, a brilliant light flashing in her tearful eyes.

She knew it! Julian still loved her. He hadn't forgotten her!

Overjoyed, Seraphina glanced at the woman tied up beside her, suppressing a contemptuous scoff in her throat—

*Did you hear that, Clara? You're going to rot in this place forever!*

Yes, the second hostage was Clara.

Clara had already been feeling sick, and after enduring relentless lashes from a whip, her entire body was completely numb. Her throat was parched and burning, leaving her unable to make a single sound.

Leaning weakly against the wooden chair, staring through the black fabric of the hood, she watched the man negotiate with her captor just a few feet away.

He had said he only wanted Seraphina!

Couldn't he even spare her a single glance?

She was a living, breathing human being, wasn't she?

Was he really that cold-blooded?
