He knew it was a cruel move, but he absolutely refused to watch Nova remain imprisoned by her own family's crises, entirely at the mercy of Tristan.
Now, the chains were broken. Nova was finally free from everyone's control.
"Don't hate me for this..."
Samuel pulled her into one last, fierce hug before gently laying her back down.
Chloe stood by, her eyes red and swollen. She stared at him and sniffled loudly.
Honestly, if Samuel was willing to go this far for her, she fully supported him making a move on Nova. Sure, he might not be entirely in her league—Nova was Aro, after all—but Nova had just wasted three years on the wrong man. This wasn't exactly a dealbreaker.
Samuel gestured for Chloe to follow him out into the hall.
He realized it was time to fill her in on the most critical details.
Like the fact that Nova had already lost her twins in a devastating car crash, but...
As Chloe listened, her eyes blew wide open in sheer disbelief.

Tristan was completely oblivious to the chaos. By the time his high-level, signal-blocked meeting concluded, it was already the next morning.
The first person to greet him as he walked out was Justin, the head of his elite legal team.
Justin was currently tasked with only one specific case.
"If it's about the Clarke family's case, handle it as you see fit. Just push it forward and expedite the process. Get it done before my wife gives birth," Tristan commanded expressionlessly, wiping his hands with a towel.
Justin remained dead silent.
Tristan's sharp eyes flicked over to him, raising an eyebrow. "Well?"
Justin braced himself. "Mr. Forrester, Ian Clarke has officially withdrawn his appeal."
Tristan's hands stopped mid-wipe.
Justin let the silence hang for a moment before dropping the rest. "There's something else. Mr. Wyndham has unilaterally terminated all contracts with us. He issued a public statement permanently severing business ties with the Forrester, Clayton, Pearce, and Sellers families. Furthermore, he fired Ms. Sellers and blacklisted her from the industry. Right now, only Forrester, Clayton, and Pearce had the capital to weather the initial stock market crash."
