Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 108

Hearing this, Nova froze for a second. Then, her eyes turned red, and a hollow laugh escaped her lips.

She reached over to the nightstand, picked up a sealed kraft envelope, and held it out to him. "This is the divorce agreement. Please sign it, Mr. Forrester. I've already signed my name."

Tristan stared down at her, his brow knitting together tightly. His voice instantly plummeted to sub-zero. "What kind of tantrum are you throwing now?"

Nova's eyes were filled with nothing but bone-deep exhaustion.

"You, your family, your friends... every single one of you, even Belinda, who actually treats me well."

"You all are so convinced that I'm madly in love with you, that I can't live without you. Even when I bring up divorce, even when I pack my bags and move out, you all just write it off as some pathetic tactic to get your attention. You think I'm just acting out because I'm so desperate for your love."

"But have you ever actually stopped to think about it, Mr. Forrester?"

"When a woman resorts to mind games and manipulation, it's because she wants something from a man. What could I possibly want from you? Your money? From the day I married you until now, have I ever spent a single dime of the Forrester family's fortune? Other than begging for your help with my dad's situation, I have asked for absolutely nothing. I even wrote you a legally binding IOU for that."

"From the very beginning, all I ever wanted was your love. But did you ever give me even a fraction of it?"

"No."

"So, what is left for me to want? No one is pathetic enough to keep smashing their head against a brick wall, hopelessly chasing a man who won't even spare her a second glance—a man who already has a woman he truly loves."

"Mr. Forrester, falling in love with you was my greatest mistake. I didn't know my place. But I know I was wrong now. All I am asking is for you to let me go. I promise you, I will stay as far away from you as humanly possible."

Tristan stood there, staring at her in absolute silence for a very long time.

He watched the tears stream endlessly down her pale cheeks.

It was a sight that would break the heart of even a sworn enemy.

But Tristan simply said, "Rest well and recover. I'll smooth things over with Grandma for you."

And with that, he turned and walked out.

He didn't even acknowledge the divorce agreement.

But the moment he stepped out the door, he heard the sound of Nova breaking down into gut-wrenching, agonizing sobs.

It was only then that it truly hit him—Nova really didn't love him anymore.
