Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 198

Nova arrived late. Samuel walked up to carry her bag and casually asked what happened, so she quietly gave him a rapid rundown of the situation.

The rest of the evening was surprisingly pleasant. No one forced any heavy drinking; it was just good food and light conversation about the company's future.

The atmosphere was completely relaxed until Stephen Zimmerman spoke up.

"The main reason I chose to partner with EverGrand was because it's backed by the Forrester Group, and their tech division has been incredibly strong this year. But while the company itself is important, the person running it is equally crucial. After dealing with her today, what do you think of Yvette Sellers?"

Nova gave a perfectly objective, unemotional summary. "Ms. Sellers didn't really speak. Mr. Forrester drove the entire negotiation."

Stephen's eyes narrowed thoughtfully before he nodded as if putting the pieces together.

"There are rumors that Tristan spoils her endlessly. The Forrester family has even publicly acknowledged that she's his fiancée and the future matriarch of the company. It seems those rumors are entirely true. However, if you find her incompetent during the partnership, you have my full authorization to terminate the contract immediately."

He was giving Nova total control.

Nova nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Zimmerman."

Stephen smiled and raised his glass to her.

He was drinking alcohol but didn't pressure Nova to join him.

After dinner, he personally arranged a car to take Samuel and Nova home.

By the time Nova returned to Clearwater Manor, it was the dead of night.

Tristan still hadn't come home.

Just as Nova was about to go to bed, Samuel called her.

"Tristan isn't home, is he?"

Nova was surprised. "Samuel, how did you know?"
