Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 36

Yvette sat elegantly beside Tristan, graciously accepting the torrent of compliments.

Felipa waved Nova over. "Nova, be a dear and pour the aerated wine for our distinguished guests."

This sickeningly sweet tone instantly reminded Nova of Felipa's vicious private behavior. It only cemented how deeply cold-blooded and hypocritical the Forrester family truly was.

In a setting like this, even if Yasmin were present, a junior family member would normally handle pouring the drinks at the head table.

Her face devoid of emotion, Nova stepped up beside Tristan and poured wine for him and Yvette.

Watching this unfold, Samuel clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white.

Making the legitimate, legally wedded wife serve drinks to her husband and his mistress at a public banquet? Treating the rightful wife like a common waitress?!

The Forrester family truly had no shame!

Samuel forced down his rage, watching Abdul continue to sing Yvette's praises to Professor Mathew as if nothing was wrong.

Yvette? A genius among geniuses?

She supposedly dabbled in everything and won awards across multiple fields? With her attention split in so many directions, how could she possibly focus on serious tech research?

Even if she could, Yvette couldn't hold a candle to Nova's raw talent.

Despite her youth, Nova was already a titan in the field, someone capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Professor Mathew himself.

And yet, here was the Forrester family, treating a diamond like dirt and parading a piece of glass as a treasure.

Samuel was sickened, but Professor Mathew was absolutely heartbroken!

It would be so much better if Tristan and Yvette had a child soon. When Yvette's baby was born, they could claim it was a twin to Nova's child. They could make Nova's child the older sibling to act as a servant and caretaker for Yvette's true heir.

With that thought, Felipa offered a remarkably patronizing smile. "My lovely future daughter-in-law, Yvette, and Tristan both adore this vintage. Be sure to keep their glasses topped up. Later, I'll have Tristan give you a little extra bonus this month. It's tough being a working girl, after all."

Nova's hand momentarily froze mid-air.

Felipa's words sounded considerate, but it was a blatant, humiliating power play to assert dominance. Calling it a 'bonus' made it sound like an ancient aristocrat tossing a copper coin to a peasant.

She was publicly declaring that Nova and Yvette were entirely different classes of people, and that Nova was only fit to serve them.

Nova had no intention of playing along any further. She was just about to excuse herself when Samuel's voice cut through the air:

"Looking at her figure, isn't she pregnant? Felipa, you're known far and wide as a great philanthropist. How is it that you're ordering a pregnant woman around like a servant? And Mr. Forrester, you're just sitting there watching? Ms. Sellers, you can sit there comfortably and let a pregnant woman wait on you without a shred of guilt?"
