Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 49

Sure enough, Belinda called five times in a row, and every single one went unanswered.

She looked over at Nova, who was sitting beside her in total, unbothered calm. There were no complaints, no tears of frustration.

As a woman herself, Belinda instantly realized that Nova had endured this kind of treatment so often that she had simply grown numb to it.

Her temper flaring, Belinda raised a hand, demanding the butler's phone, and redialed the number.

It rang only twice before the call connected.

Sitting close by, Nova clearly heard Tristan's voice: "What is it?"

Gripping the phone tightly, Belinda demanded coldly, "Where are you, and when are you getting here?!"

Tristan's tone was casual and perfectly level. "On the way."

In the background, the faint sounds of traffic and honking horns could be heard.

Belinda hung up immediately without another word.

Nova knew the Forrester family wasn't just another clan of wealthy capitalists.

They were a multi-generational aristocratic dynasty. They had faced near-ruin in the past. When Abdul fell into a coma, it was Belinda who single-handedly carried the family on her back, mentoring and guiding Tristan. Using ruthless, thunderous tactics, Tristan had stepped up to take the patriarch's seat, rebuilding the Forrester empire into the behemoth it was today.

When Belinda spoke, her words carried absolute weight.

However, Abdul and the rest of the family clearly shared a different mindset—they didn't think alienating their own flesh and blood over someone like Nova was worth it.

Catching Abdul's subtle signal, Felipa immediately stood up. "Nova, Tristan will be here soon. Come to the kitchen and give me a hand. Doesn't Belinda love your osmanthus cakes the most?"

Nova knew exactly what Felipa was trying to do. But before she could even respond, Belinda snapped.

"When you were pregnant, did I ever force you to run around doing chores? What kind of manual labor requires a pregnant woman?"

"Later, in front of the old lady, you will find an excuse to explain why Yvette was in the banquet portrait instead of you. As for the corporate announcement claiming Tristan is divorced and single, you will say you abused your administrative privileges and posted it from the company account yourself. Your motive was that you were throwing a tantrum and trying to get Tristan's attention."

"You've already faked a miscarriage to manipulate him before. Pulling a stunt like this is perfectly in character for you."

Staring at the arrogant woman who didn't even treat her as a human being, Nova found the entire situation laughable.

"And if she asks why Yvette was there, looking so cozy and intimate with all of you, what then?"

Belinda's sudden return, coupled with her unexpectedly aggressive disdain for Yvette, had left Felipa scrambling.

But faced with Nova's question, Felipa just looked annoyed.

"Use your brain and make something up! The point is, minimize the damage and make all these problems disappear at your feet. I haven't even settled the score with you for sending Yasmin to jail! If it weren't for you, none of this would be happening! Every single mess in the Forrester family is a disaster you created!"

Nova replied coolly, "Yasmin went to jail because she broke the law. If you have an issue with that, take it up with the police. I had nothing to do with the banquet portrait, nor the divorce announcement. If you think I did, feel free to call the cops and have them investigate. Finally, I'm done wiping up other people's messes. You're on your own."
