Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 61

"Nova, what do you want me to buy you? Just name your price."

In the car, Belinda held Nova's hand, offering comfort. "Are you regretting your resignation? It's fine, I can arrange a new position for you!"

Nova remained silent for a moment before looking back at the older woman. "Belinda, can you arrange for Mr. Forrester and me to get a divorce? We can go file the paperwork tomorrow since it's a weekday. Once the mandatory waiting period is over, it will be officially finalized."

Belinda froze. She immediately assumed this was because she had brought Nova along, forcing her to listen to people praise how capable and outstanding Yvette was, which must have shattered Nova's self-esteem...

She felt a deep wave of guilt.

Reaching out, she patted the back of Nova's hand. "Let's head back to the Forrester Estate first. I'll give you an answer later tonight."

Nova was carrying her great-grandson. They had been so in love—how could she possibly want a divorce?

She was just feeling wronged. She wanted to be coaxed, to feel cared for.

Pregnant women were especially sensitive to these things.

With that in mind, Belinda texted Tristan, demanding he return home immediately!

Nova had no idea what Belinda was thinking, but the older woman's evasiveness made her anxious. Terrified she wasn't being taken seriously, she pressed, "Belinda, I don't love him anymore. I feel absolutely nothing for him. I truly want a divorce."

Belinda sighed inwardly.

Women were always like this when they were emotional—saying things they didn't mean. She understood completely.

"Alright, I'll take care of it for you."

Belinda gently soothed Nova's anxiety. "I promise to make things right."

Upon arriving at the estate, Belinda told Nova to go rest.

She marched straight into the study and ordered her staff, "Dig up all the dirt on this Yvette Sellers. I refuse to believe the hype! So many people have great PR these days, but they're nothing more than an empty shell! Find out the truth so I can show Tristan exactly what kind of trash she really is!"

Abdul, standing nearby, chimed in, "But what if Yvette actually does have the talent they say she does?"

"The government has completely rejected Yvette's involvement. Tobias Stratton even put the word out—unless you personally give the green light, Yvette isn't getting anywhere near it!"

Why would Mr. Stratton do that?

Nova didn't even have to think about it.

Samuel must have told Tobias about what happened to her, and Tobias was standing up for her.

"Samuel, do you think... it's wrong of me to throw my weight around like this?" Nova asked.

Samuel looked at her like she had just told a joke. "If Yvette is truly as brilliant as she claims, why hasn't she built a second Genesis Project from scratch like you did? Instead, she insists on swooping in to steal the food right off your plate. Her motives are entirely self-serving!"

"Alright, stop overthinking it and focus on recovering. The auction has been moved up!"

Hearing this, Nova suddenly perked up. "Why the sudden change?"

Samuel explained, "Because Yvette kept hitting a brick wall. Tristan used his leverage to pressure the auction house into accelerating the timeline. The event is going to be packed with top-tier tech elites, all vying for that highly coveted research data in the finale. I'm guessing Tristan plans to buy that data for Yvette, using it as a stepping stone to secure her position as the head of the Genesis Project."
