As he spoke, Samuel carefully observed Nova's expression.
To his surprise, even after hearing how far Tristan was willing to go for Yvette, Nova didn't flinch or zone out the way she used to.
She simply gave a calm nod. "Then we'll go too. I'm going to buy my mother's jade signet ring back."
Samuel smiled and nodded. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a car approaching in the distance.
He waved a hand. "Go on, head back inside."
"Okay." From start to finish, Nova never once asked what documents she had just signed.
This left Samuel both amused and exasperated. What if he had just sold her out?
"I know you're short on cash right now. I licensed out one of your previous projects, and those papers you signed were for the authorization. By tomorrow, you'll see ninety million deposited into your account. When the time comes, you can bid on whatever your heart desires."
Nova was pleasantly shocked, the news giving her a sudden surge of confidence!
"Samuel, thank you so much!"
Samuel replied, "Just don't let me down!"
As Nova turned and walked back, her resolve solidified.
Tomorrow, she was going to win exactly what she came for.
—"How is Belinda doing today?"
A sudden voice echoed from behind her.
Nova jumped.
Turning around, she saw Tristan.
His gaze merely swept over her; the question had been directed at the maid who had come out to greet him.
Nova didn't say a word, only wanting to get away as fast as possible.
But Tristan had a long stride. Even with her breaking into a light jog, she couldn't put any distance between them.
To an outsider, the scene looked exactly like Nova was desperately trying to keep up with him.
But she watched Tristan sit down at the dining table.
His intention was clear—he was going to drink it.
It was his silent permission for her to walk over and serve him.
However, Nova had zero interest in playing the part of a loving couple just for Belinda's benefit.
"Belinda, I'm not feeling very well. I think I'll head upstairs."
Nova wasn't oblivious; she knew Belinda was trying to play matchmaker.
But... this desperate, pathetic routine of throwing herself at a man who didn't care felt utterly humiliating. It felt cheap.
Belinda didn't pick up on Nova's emotional shift and simply nodded. "You're pregnant and you've had a long day. You should get some proper rest."
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she called out, "Before you go, give Tristan that blessed charm you specifically prayed for at the abbey!"
Nova froze in place. It wasn't until Belinda personally handed the charm—still warm from Nova's pocket—over to Tristan that she finally reacted.
