Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 68

Tristan opened his eyes. "Let's go."

As the car started, he glanced down at his messages. Nova hadn't replied.

...

"My mentor is going to be here today. I'll introduce you to a highly respected international professor," Samuel casually mentioned as they walked into the venue.

Nova nodded, her attention caught by the auction catalog display.

There were three main items up for bid. The grand finale was the research data that countless people worldwide were desperate to get their hands on. The item right before it was her mother's heirloom—an antique imperial green signet ring.

Nova had no interest in the third item.

She was here for one reason only: the ring.

But Samuel leaned in and whispered, "Nova, don't just focus on the ring. We absolutely have to secure that research data as well."

Nova didn't understand why.

Samuel explained, "Tobias Stratton just mentioned that this specific data is vital for another project. If you can push it forward, you'll earn the respect of Professor Hickey Caldwell—the man my mentor is introducing us to. Once he sees your capabilities, he'll be more than happy to pull strings to help with your brother's case."

Nova's eyes lit up.

She would rather work herself into the ground and exhaust every ounce of her energy than grovel and compromise with Tristan.

"I'm willing to drain every cent I have!" Nova said, her determination absolute.

Samuel smiled. "My capital is more than enough. All you need to do is prove yourself in the research and deliver results."

The Wyndham family was an old-money powerhouse, and Samuel was a legendary figure in the business world.

Mobilizing hundreds of millions in liquid assets was child's play for him.

The VIP investor section.

Meanwhile, Nova was seated in the second row, just a short distance behind Tristan.

If he turned his head, he would be looking right at her.

Out of the corner of her eye, Yvette caught Nova looking away from Tristan. In that split second, she knew exactly who Nova was here for.

Kieran had been right. Wherever they went, Nova deliberately manufactured 'coincidences' to stalk them.

But with Nova's status, how on earth did she get in here? Who brought her?

Did she beg Belinda to pull strings and get her a pass?

If so, it all made sense.
