Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 69

It wasn't just Yvette; Chuck Clayton and Kieran, seated nearby, also noticed Nova's presence.

Kieran scowled and texted Yvette, his temper flaring: *Fuck, she's like a leech that won't let go. She definitely begged Belinda, and since the old woman is obsessed with playing matchmaker, she pulled strings to get her in! Otherwise, how could a nobody like her ever qualify for a place like this? I saw her creeping around the hotel earlier!*

Chuck didn't say a word, only casting a brief, disdainful glance toward where Nova was seated.

For a woman to degrade herself to this extent for a man who didn't even love her... it was the definition of pathetic.

Chuck reserved his judgment.

Instead, he asked, "Belinda is trying to force Tristan and her together?"

Kieran nodded, pulling up the messages Yasmin had forwarded to Yvette the night before and showing them to Chuck.

"Putting on a whole pious act at the abbey to pray for him. Some kind of 'destined love' charm designed to manipulate a man's heart. Then she sweet-talks the old woman into forcing Tristan to sign a contract saying he can't divorce her or marry Yvette. Tsk... how can someone's skin be this thick? I'm going to ask her when this is over if she even knows what self-respect is."

A flash of revulsion crossed Chuck's eyes, and he looked away.

As far as he was concerned, the Clarke family was ruined. Nova lacked both talent and looks. Now that she was finally pregnant and held the title of Mrs. Forrester, of course she was going to cling to it like a parasite.

Kieran opened his mouth to complain more, but Chuck cut him off. "Enough. The auction is starting."

Kieran muttered, "She's definitely going to try and sabotage things. Want to bet?"

Chuck didn't take the bet. He agreed that Nova showing up here so shamelessly was purely to be a nuisance, but there was no point in gambling on it. He simply said, "Tristan is here."

The first item was brought out onto the stage.

Every eye in the room zeroed in on the display.

The velvet cloth was pulled away to reveal a wedding dress.

It was 'Beloved', the final masterpiece by the world-renowned designer, Eiffelca.

The starting bid was $30 million, and it came with one singular condition: the man who won this dress for the woman he loved had to watch her walk down the aisle in it, swearing before God to love only her for the rest of his life.

Nova hadn't even finished reading the description on the screen when she saw Yvette, seated in the row ahead, raise her paddle. "Fifty million!"

Nova felt absolutely nothing, having already accepted the reality that Tristan loved Yvette.

Her only concern now was the next two items: her mother's heirloom and the research data. Would Tristan give Yvette a blank check for those too...?

If that was the case...

Nova glanced at the empty seat beside her.

Samuel still wasn't back.

The second round of bidding officially began.

The cloth was swept away, revealing the imperial green signet ring. Starting bid: $8 million.

Nova's pupils contracted.

Before she could even lift her paddle, Yvette had already raised hers.
