Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 82

It was during those early days that Tristan first noticed her. He would subtly assign tasks to her through Yasmin or others, testing her capabilities, widening her margin for error, and intentionally grooming her.

But then came the drugging, the bed-hopping, the disgraceful behavior. She had disappointed him entirely.

Tristan remained silent, his gaze fixed steadily on her.

She met his eyes. For some reason, the moment she sat at the negotiating table, all her fear of him evaporated.

She had learned well at Forrester Group: even as the vendor in a partnership, mutual benefit was the goal. Neither side was inherently inferior, and she had no reason to bow her head.

"Mr. Wyndham's secretary?" Tristan finally looked away, his voice devoid of emotion.

A secretary was just a glorified assistant, but Samuel quickly corrected him. "Executive Assistant."

An Executive Assistant was entirely different—they had access to the core of the company.

Yvette's frown deepened at the title.

If Samuel had really given her an executive role just because he was sleeping with her, the man was out of his mind!

CN Dynamics was bound to collapse at this rate. She had no desire to stick around a sinking ship.

Tristan gave a slow, measured nod. "Let's put the collaboration aside for a moment. I have matters beyond the partnership to discuss with your company."

A sinking feeling settled in Nova's chest.

Sensing the shift, Samuel nodded. "Funny, I have some non-negotiable matters to address as well. But please, Mr. Forrester, you first."

Tristan's gaze locked onto her. Without warning, he stated, "Fire her."

There it was.

Her heart dropped.

Why was he targeting her like this?!

Nova knew absolutely nothing, yet he was willing to throw away a partnership with two industry giants just for her?

Unable to hold back, Yvette interjected, "Mr. Wyndham, putting aside the question of whether she is even qualified, she's pregnant. Once the baby arrives, she'll need time to nurse and raise the child. Will she really be able to keep up with this kind of workload? I think Mr. Forrester is just looking out for CN Dynamics. She belongs at home."

Nova pressed her lips together and looked at Yvette.

It was almost laughable.

Yvette paraded herself as a modern feminist, yet she was always the first to belittle other women, especially mothers.

The fact that Tristan didn't interrupt meant he agreed with her.

Nova lowered her eyes.

To the outside world, she was just an Executive Assistant, but she was secretly the second-in-command of this company.

She looked directly at Yvette. "If memory serves, you weren't assigned to this project by CN Dynamics. From the moment you walked in, you sat on the Forrester side of the table. Whose payroll are you even on? What gives you the right to speak on behalf of either side?"
