Hunter wore a darkened expression. Just then, Noelle slowly opened her eyes as she lay in bed.
The perceptive doctor immediately said, "You can leave once the IV finishes. Most importantly, keep a cheerful mood and get plenty of rest. Don't overexert yourself."
Gale walked the doctor out. Noelle was awake now, with a trace of confusion lingering in her eyes. Bonnie had been leaning over the bedside the whole time.
She piped up in a soft voice, "Mom, are you okay?"
Noelle had a little headache. She looked at Bonnie and gradually recalled how she had passed out. She shook her head, trying to shake the pain away.
"Bonnie, I'm fine."
"The doctor said you need rest. You've been under too much stress lately. For the time being, you have to focus on recovery." Hunter looked at her helplessly. "Noelle, can you at least try to take care of yourself?"
The way she neglected her health was driving him mad.
Before Noelle could speak, Bonnie got upset. "Dad, how can you talk to Mom that way? You're being mean to her! You have to apologize now!"
Hunter was even more exasperated. Certainly, someone who didn't even care about her own health wouldn't care if others were mean to her.
Noelle was amused by the way Bonnie acted. No matter how awful she felt before, the sight of the latter's adorable face instantly lifted her spirits.
She kissed Bonnie on the cheek. "I'm fine, Bonnie. Thank you for standing up for me and caring about me. I always knew you were the best."
Getting a kiss from Noelle made Bonnie feel much better. She pressed her lips together and grinned.
"Mom, the doctor said you need more rest, so you can't overwork. Let Dad take care of you! He can cook lots and lots of dishes. He'll definitely make sure you're well-fed!"
Noelle couldn't help but chuckle. She pinched Bonnie's cheeks. "But what if I get chubby from eating his food?"
Bonnie blinked and thought hard. "I'll ask Dad to cook more dishes for you so you can just eat a teeny bit of each!"
Hunter was speechless. Good grief. Bonnie had no concern for him at all. What if cooking this many dishes exhausted him? Still, seeing the smile on Noelle's face, he suddenly felt it was all worth it.
Just then, Noelle's phone rang. She picked up, and after hearing what the person on the other end said, her expression turned solemn. When she ended the call, Hunter looked over with concern.
Noelle gazed at him and explained, "Finn says he knows where Faye is. He plans to take us to her."
