Chapter 111

The dinner party kicked off with the host strutting onto the stage to some over–the–top music.
After a bit of hype, the host invited Tristan and the bride–to–be up to the stage, asking them to share their feelings for each other in front of everyone.
Tristan wasn’t exactly scowling, but there was no sign of happiness on his face either.
The host handed him the mic. “Tristan, tell everyone here how much you love your fiancée,”
Tristan didn’t take the mic. His eyes darted around the crowd, searching for that familiar face.
Tll go first. Nancy said, grabbing the mic with a bold smile. “I want to share how I feel about Tristan.”
She spoke openly, talking about her secret crush on Tristan and how they finally became a couple. She really played up the sweet, devoted little wife vibe.
Brianna listened, watching Tristan’s expressionless face, and sighed softly. It felt like she was seeing her younger self all over again.
Back then, she was just an innocent girl, dreaming about love, marrying a man who never really loved her. This whole thing was doomed from the start.
Looking at Tristan, Brianna could tell he didn’t love Nancy.
He was always so warm and friendly with his friends. But when it came to someone he truly loved, he’d never be that cold.
The coldness on Tristan’s face made Brianna think of all those countless days and nights when Brandon looked at her with the same distant expression.
Having suffered through marriage herself, Brianna felt a pang of pity for the two about to fall into the same pit.
When Nancy finished, her face lit up with excitement and a bit of bashfulness as she handed the mic to Tristan.
Tristan took the mic, one hand in his pocket, looking casual and a bit indifferent.
He hesitated for a long moment before finally saying, “When you truly love someone, you’d do anything for them, even give up your own life. I just hope you can see my love for you.”
The crowd burst out with teasing and playful shouts, But Nancy knew that when he said “you,” his eyes were. actually fixed on Brianna
The host kept the energy high, urging Tristan to propose to Nancy right there in front of everyone. But Tristan frowned, not moving an inch.
The crowd just thought he was shy and kept egging him on. But only his father readly understood what was

going on. He cleared his throat and walked onto the stage with his wife and Nancy’s parents.
He walked over to Tristan with a big grin, giving him a playful nudge with his elbow.
Tristan met his father’s gaze, which was full of a threatening look.
He slowly pulled out the ring, opened the box, not bothering to get down on one knee or say anything romantic. He just stared at Nancy, almost wishing she’d say no.
The moment Nancy saw the diamond ring, she was so overwhelmed that she covered her face with both hands, tears welling up in her eyes,
She didn’t care about Tristan’s attitude at all. She just held out her hand, waiting for him to put the ring on her finger, the symbol of their love.
Seeing Tristan hesitate, his father shot him a sharp, warning look.
Tristan, with obvious reluctance, slipped the ring onto Nancy’s middle finger.
Nancy couldn’t hold back her emotions and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.
Compared to Nancy’s enthusiasm, Tristan was much colder. He just patted her on the shoulder and pulled away from her embrace.
Down in the audience, Patsy and Brianna exchanged a look and let out a soft sigh.
After the ceremony, the guests mingled and toasted each other, glasses clinking all around.
Brianna quietly stayed with the Levy family, taking care of Kendra. She never went looking for trouble, but trouble always seemed to find her.
Once the banquet was over, she said goodbye to Tristan and was about to leave with her family. But Whitney and Blanca walked over with big smiles, blocking their path.
“Grandpal” Kendra was the only one who greeted her grandfather with excitement. “Where’s Darcy?”
Whitney smiled. “Darcy didn’t come.”
Kendra’s face instantly fell with disappointment.
“Dad, Blanca, Brandon said politely.
Blanca put on a sweet smile and bent down to gently touch Kendra’s cheek. “Kendra, do you miss Darcy?”
Then she straightened up, squared her shoulders, and turned to Gabrielle. “Gabrielle, I’ve got some great news for you. Darcy’s expecting a boy!”
Blanca watched Gabrielle with a smug look, clearly hoping to catch a hint of surprise or inner turmoil on her face

Gabrielle snorted coldly. “After all this time, your family still doesn’t get it? Sons and grandsons don’t matter. They’re all just a bunch of bastards to me!”
“Gabrielle, no matter what, my daughter is carrying your son’s flesh and blood…” Whitney had had a few drinks tonight, and with some liquid courage, he was ready to argue.
“Is it really Brandon’s baby?” Brianna cut her father off. “It’s been almost three months now. If it’s really Brandon’s baby, why don’t you have Darcy come back and we’ll do a paternity test?”
She wasn’t confident herself, but those lingering doubts pushed her to test the waters and see how they’d
react.
As soon as the words left her mouth, Blanca’s face turned ghostly pale. Whitney, too, seemed to sober up instantly.
Brandon and Gabrielle stared at Brianna, completely stunned.
Brianna locked eyes with Blanca and pressed on, “That night, besides that glass of orange juice, what else did Darcy give Brandon to eat or drink? Have her come back and explain everything together. I want the truth, right here and now!”
Blanca’s face twisted with rage, like a dog whose tail’s been stepped on. “What nonsense are you spouting? I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
Brianna kept pushing, not letting up. “Is that so? Deliberate harm is a crime. Drugging a man is a crime, too. So, tell me, how many years do you think Darcy would get locked up for all that?”
Seeing how confident she sounded, Whitney’s heart skipped a beat. Wait, does she know everything?
Judging from the suspicious looks Brandon and Gabrielle gave her, Whitney figured Brianna hadn’t spilled the beans to them. ‘She’s just guessing–no evidence, he told himself.
“Brianna, you can eat whatever you want, but you can’t just run your mouth!” Whitney tried to shut her down.
Her words left Whitney and Blanca speechless. Watching them bluff, Brianna was pretty sure she was onto something.
She smirked, then turned to Brandon and Gabrielle. “That night, Darcy took advantage of Brandon being drunk. She poured him a glass of orange juice and spiked it with drugs.”
Brandon sucked in a sharp breath, his eyes wide as he stared at her.
Gabrielle’s face darkened, her gaze stormy and gloomy as she stared at Whitney and Blanca.
Brianna’s lips curled into a smirk as she continued, “Too bad, Brandon never even touched that glass of orange juice
Brandon’s brows drew together, his lips curling into a chilling smile, his eyes glinting with a dangerous red

Just as he was about to speak, Brianna locked eyes with Blanca, her gaze so intense it felt like she could see right through her. “Brandon was that drunk. If Darcy didn’t give him anything, then tell me, how did she end up pregnant?”
Brandon shot Whitney and Blanca a cold look.
“What a schemer!” Gabrielle sneered. “Pretending to be all harmless every day, but secretly plotting behind everyone’s back? Blanca, didn’t you ever teach your daughter anything decent?”
“Brianna, stop spouting nonsense!” Blanca snapped, humiliated and furious. “Just because you drugged Brandon doesn’t mean my daughter would stoop to your level!”
As far as everyone else was concerned, Brianna was the mastermind behind what happened that night. But she had no way to clear her name.
Brianna was momentarily at a loss for words.
“Brianna wasn’t the one who drugged Brandon back then!” Gabrielle said, her face serious, no trace of joking in her voice.
Brianna blinked in shock at Gabrielle. ‘Is she defending me, or does she actually know what happened?”
